  2. VaZso is absolutely right. That's my problem. I've already tried an external reader and another phone. Card is not recognized... Stefan

  4. So I'm a lucky within the ⅓ they delivered? Also, how unlucky can a company get with all of what happened wow... Pandemic out of nowhere (cannot travel to China) Stolen money for the SoC (which is about half the price of the phone) Need to buy new SoC but completely screwed about its functionalities (China: The land of smokes and mirrors) and Chen couldn't be there to experience himself because air-traveling was restricted Then delivery company starts delivering some phones and selling some of the stock itself. -> Change of company Then the logistics of
  5. I can't be sure of their motivation, but I believe it's about security, in case the database of this forum gets leaked or something else happens, their personal data are less likely to be part of it.
  6. Security and comfort are always in race. I think users have not requested this as a feature from Google and normally there is no benefit of it. However, if phone has been stolen, this can be a real benefit... Otherwise it creates trouble accessing data outside the phone and I don't know if there is a way to extract key from a working system to be used later in case of a decryption will be necessary. (That is not really important for Google...)
  7. I thought I should add here what I already mentioned somewhere else; those NetDot magnetic connectors/connector cables didn't prevent my Pro1's USB socket from failing. (Happened some time ago, even before I got my Pro1X; I replaced it successfully with a spare USB board from Fxtec, but I broke other things in the progress, like fingerprint reader, one of the volume buttons and the orientation sensor/switch.) My suspicion is that any cable or adapter that doesn't sit tightly and still has some play when inserted will, at some point, break the socket. As most of my other USB C devices nev
  8. Unfortunately it does not help because decryption needs the key which is unique for the device (installation) what does not boot.
  9. I have no clue where the original thread ended up. I posted a couple of cases I got a while back that are perfect, but y'all didn't want the funky designs and colors. I finally found a black one on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085B37D84 All you have to do is GENTLY remove the rubber phone holder, use a few pieces of double sided carpet tape (lemme know if you want a link) and mount the phone. Camera hole is perfect, no button interference, and great protection.
  10. Unfortunately, it does not help if OS handles the card "securely" which practically means data is encrypted and encryption key is inside phone's flash which (currently) is inaccessible for the owner... So that is the problem@wrc08has with the card.
  11. I don't understand why nix an account? Just don't use it.
  12. Take the card out and put it in a reader?
  13. I don't really know, but I would assume that normal orders are included in that 3/4. Just for the record, my outstanding device is a website order, but for quite some time now I'm getting their Indiegogo updates by e-mail. (I used to get them earlier for a second – IGG – order, but initially they stopped coming after that phone was actually delivered.)
  14. BTW, the status of the Indiegogo campaign is now closed instead of in demand. Is was still open 19th of April and maybe even yesterday if I remember correctly. Cache of the webpage:
  15. Yesterday, researching their adress, I've found this: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11602958/filing-history In the last reports, I find these numbers: 2020: Debtors: 170k Cash at bank account and in hand: 290k 2021: Debtors: 5.6M Cash at bank account and in hand: 9.3M 2022: Debtors: 2.3M Cash at bank account and in hand: 100k How should we interpret these numbers? Are we debtors? Or are there other investors which helped starting the production lines and are yet to be paid?

  17. Not once did they ever mentioned website orderers anywhere, not even when asking them specifically about website orders, and only mentioned "backers" in their replies. Therefore, I can't reasonably assume anything else than that website orderers are f*cked.
  18. Hello. I would like to share this information with the community, since XDA and F(x)Tech do not seem to be very transparent about this process. IGG is not replying to me either. I reached out to XDA. They are not replying to me anymore. But I will leave this here: XDA/Valnet does not have any current relationship with F(x)Tech. From this email it appears that this project was forgotten during the acquisition by Valnet in January 2022. --- It appears that this product is perhaps too niche?
  19. The biggest problem for me is that I had a microSD card in the Pro1 that is formatted as internal storage. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to my data on the MicroSD card. Is there any way to make the memory card contents readable and back up the data? Stefan
  20. Hello VaZso, Thanks for thinking along and your hints. I'll try this weekend to see if the Pro1 shows any reaction when connected to the computer. I'll report back then. I'll write to support tomorrow and ask if they are able to repair the device. Let's see if I get an answer. Stefan
  21. Hello FlyingAnterro, the device has now been connected to a charger for 24 hours. Condition is unchanged. It was worth a try. Thanks. Stefan
  22. There might be work around! What if you install different virtual keyboards and select different layout for each one to the physical keyboad settings? Then use Keyboard Switcher and Key Mapper to bring up the pop up for the virtual keyboard selector. I tested it to be working with my self made qwerty phone (bluetooth keyboard). Edit: You can use the same key combo to bring up the keyboard selector. Biggest downside is that you need to change back the prefered virtual keyboard manually if needed for portrait use.
  23. I don't really know, but I would assume that normal orders are included in that 3/4.
  24. OK, 3/4 of backers, but what about people who ordered from the website and got upgraded to Pro1x? Do they get a survey too?
