Be aware, that the cLock widget was not ported to LineageOS 17.1 - in case you are afraid that you are starting to miss it... π

@acrux a lot of us in here are not fluent in English, and that is fine. Please bear with us.
I do hope you see the irony in that you fail using the quoting functionality correctly in your pointing out someone's error... π
Well, my only intention was to help to make his/her posting understandable unequivocal π
Thanks for pointing out the quotation mistake - corrected for now.

Still waiting.... Ordered on 19.09.19
But I cancel my order within 9 days. If I don't have an email from Fx, my order is ready to ship
Sorry, couldn't resist π
I guess you wanted to say: "But I cancel my order within 9 days if I don't have an email from Fx that my order is ready to ship."

Still available... π
There were 2 interested persons, who were not able to perform a bank transfer and one person who stated that the warranty is almost over as the phone was ordered at February 28th 2019. And one Blackberry user from Tallinn who is fond of phone keyboards but preferable the Blackberry ones π
I know - transferring the money and then waiting for the parcel to arrive needs a certain amount of trust, but when you pre-order the Pro1 from Fxtec the situation is similar. Hereby I remember selling successfully my Nokia N900 to fellow TMO user from Italy.
But I have a temptation to test the latest SailfishOS developments for Pro1, so the sale could be soon over... Let's see... π

How do I bypass/decline Google privacy policy without loosing warranty?
Install LineageOS! It is just plain Android without Google "features" π

Interesting - shouldn't the A/B slot system be for just these cases - updated slot fails to boot and you can boot the previous slot which is still OK (without the update)?
Can you switch the active slot at bootloader mode to previous one and try to boot that one?

Sorry to be a thread bumper but can I ask after a week if the Sailfish Community build is still an active thing or is it finished?
AFAIK it is still "alpha" or "work in progress". Do not expect the current community port to be an official one - the probability for that is very-very low.
If you need Android applications then run Android (or LineageOS). If you like Linux and are ready to live with some limitations, then try SailfishOS - maybe it suits your use case. And don't forget to give something back to the SailfishOS community - at least bug reports are welcome π

With the arrival of official LineageOS I gave my Pro1 a test run for about a week. No other complaints but a mobile reception sensitivity. Usually it is OK, but in some places where I have to be, there is no or very fragmentary mobile data connection. In comparison - my Nexus 6 has reliable connection there. I can't use Pro1 as my everyday phone and retire my Nexus 6.Β So I'll renew my sale announcement:
F(x)tec Pro1 QWERTZ; Model: QX1000; S/N: fxtec000236
In original box with all included accessories (charger, cable, pouch etc).
No pictures needed as you still can't differentiate it from a new one.
Bootloader has been unlocked and device software has been restored into factory state.
Bonus: 4GB uSD card with installation files and instructions for SailfishOS, LineageOS, Ungoogled Stock and Stock.
Price 625β¬ if collected in Tallinn, Estonia, otherwise (SEPA) bank transfer. If shipping is needed, it is approximately 11-30β¬ inside EU.
If you are interested then please PM or answer in this thread. If you think that the price is not correct, then PM me - let's discuss
No account here? Send me an e-mail!Waiting for the Pro2 π

SailfishOS can be seen as a Linux distribution (Android uses Linux kernel too). Only thing where it relies on Android are Android drivers through libhybris.
Certain Android Apps can be run in SailfishOS using an emulator and it is possible and officially supported only on certain Sony Xperia models - so no go on Pro1.
The overall state of SailfishOSΒ on Pro1 is a community port in alpha stage. Many thanks to those making it possible (the same goes to LineageOS porters)!
Could SailfishOS on Pro1 be used as a daily phone? Well - it depends. Give it a try but don't hope you can find every application you have used in Android.
And there are some small glitches here and there. But overall it feels like a draught of fresh air in the stale atmosphere of Android&IOS π
My last try results from the end of June are here π

... Just be prepared for the OTA install to take nearly an hour.
Is there a particular reason for that? Moving Gapps and other addons?
My Nexus 6 with no Gapps usually performs an LineageOS OTA update in 2-3 minutes.

Something about temporary flashing? And the command doesn't match what we previously used either.
Before: fastboot flash boot_a lineage.img
According to the install page: fastboot flash lineage.img
Temporary because the following updates already include boot.img.
You made an inaccuracy here, according to the install page:
fastboot flash boot <recovery_filename>.img
It does not matter to which slot boot partition it is flashed if it is install and not a update.

Something is up already: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/pro1 π

test20 is up.Β This is pretty much the final code that will be imported into the official Lineage trees unless any issues are found.
Well, if somebody asked my opinion, then I'd put all efforts to get the official LineageOS for Pro1 out.
It is always possible to tweak things later, make test builds and discuss them here etc...

Or do you mean I shouldn't have sideloaded the .zip files?
At least not the test18.zip. adb sideloading is just a different method of "flashing" as I understand it π

@tdm sorry, was a bit busy today, finally managed to flash the permissive image. For the record, I flashed the permissive image, did a factory reset, flashed the v18 .zip file, rebooted into recovery mode, flashed the GApps zip, rebooted and got into the wizard. I skipped the SIM question, because I don't have a SIM in the device, then connected to WiFi and as soon as the connection was established, the wizard started searching for updates and after that continued on as expected.
Shouldn't you flash the permissive image after you flash the test18 image? Currently it seems that you just proved, that there are no problems with test18 image and if there were any, they were resolved with factory reset? Of course, I could be totally wrong how I'm understanding the situation...

I've done a fresh installation (Full wipe and flashing of .img and .zip and gapps), but when I try to get through the setup wizard I'm stuck at setting up a WiFi connection. The connection is established, but the process doesn't continue. I can only skip, but then I get stuck at the next screen (copying apps and files) - regardless of what I select I get an error "Login not possible" ("Anmeldung nicht mΓΆglich")
This did work in test15.
Could not confirm here. At first just flashed test18 over test17, but then rebooted to recovery, Wipe data / factory reset, sideloaded test18 to another slot, booted to initial setup and it passed the wifi setup with no problems (no sim card)Β and internet connection was present (time was updated). However - no gapps here.

Edit: Now that I'm trying to write from my phone, I notice the QWERTZ layout is shifted.
Confirmed here also. The upper row (numbers etc) is OK, but all other rows are shifted and yellow arrow (Fn) key does not always correspond to what is printed to the keys even if the shifted situation is taken into account.

I'm wondering, what unit it is when you are talking about current? Current is measured in amperes (eg 1.5 A) but you are writing here "...with a maximum current of 1.5C."? Let's be correct and precise, gentlemen - it's physics π

As a long-time KDE user - Plasma Mobile.
But until that: LineageOS with no Gapps π
I also keep my eye on SailfishOS and Ubuntu Touch & ubports.
