Kolobamanacas 8
Hi everyone! So I finally got my Pro1x (Android) and I'm trying to incorporate it in my daily life. I'm struggling with a couple of things though and I would be glad if someone point me to the right direction. 1) First of all, the on-screen keyboard is always present, even when physical keyboard is opened. I'm quite sure it wasn't the case when I first turned the device on. It seems like I tweaked something in settings, or maybe installed some app (but I didn't install any keyboard related app for sure) but now no matter what setting I'm changing (both in Gboard and physical keyboard sections) it seems like it doesn't affect anything. So my question is: how do I set up the phone the way it only shows keyboard when physical keyboard is inactive/shut. 2) I've added second language layout (Russian) and it works fine and switching languages with ctrl+space works fine, but while I'm in non-English layout no special characters (like !@#$%^&*) work. Is it a known bug? Did I miss something? 3) In "Physical keyboard > Keyboard shortcuts" sections there is a list of shortcuts. Most of them start with "๐" symbol, followed by a key. I didn't find "๐" on a keyboard, but as soon as there was a mention of "๐+space" to change keyboard layout, I assumed that "๐" is "ctrl". But no combination of any key paired with ctrl (or with shift/โ๏ธ/F/alt/Sym) does anything. So... what is "๐"? ๐ย How do I use shortcuts? 4) Next general question is: is there any full/extended manual for the smartphone? I only found quick guide, but there is not much there. In particular I'm curious, what "F" and "Sym" keys are for? I got that "โ๏ธ" key is for special symbols highlighted in yellow on keyboard, but the purpose of the other is complete mystery. I would appreciate any help! ๐
Itsacon 1
The always-on on-screen keyboard is bugging me too. ย It's a recent change, since Gboard added support for external physical keyboard, but somehow it always detects the slide-out keyboard as being present, even if it's slid-in. You can turn it off completely, but then the on-screen keyboard never shows up. In the end I managed to fix it by installing a different keyboard app and disabling Gboard. If anyone has a fix, I'm interested too Edited August 26 by Itsacon
Kolobamanacas 8
@Itsacon, thanks for the info! Indeed replacing Gboard with Microsoft SwiftKey did the trick. It also turns out that I can type special characters in non-English layouts using "shift+number", instead of "โ๏ธ+number". It is kind of strange to use different approaches with different layouts, but at least it's now usable. Edited Wednesday at 12:25 PM by Kolobamanacas
