Guide for Installing USB Android Drivers for Windows 10/11 - Get fastboot to work for LineageOS Install Fxtec Pro1 X

It took me a while, but I got LineageOS running on my Fxtec Pro1 X by following the guide here:

However, I ran into issues when trying to run these fastboot commands:

 fastboot oem enable-charger-screen
 fastboot oem off-mode-charge 1
 fastboot reboot

Fastboot reported that no devices were found.  Ok, so that's a driver problem.  But, I couldn't figure out how to install the Google USB Drivers for Android on Windows 11:

After doing a lot of digging, I found a video in Russian that showed how to do it, so I figured I would create my own guide to help those that are running into the same issue and can't get fastboot to work.

Step 1, download and extract the Google USB Drivers for Android:  https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb

 

Ok, step 2, open Device Manager and find the Android entry, right click, and click on "Update driver":

Step 3:  Choose "Browse my computer for drivers":

Step 4: Click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer":

Step 5:  Select "Show All Devices" and click on "Next":

Step 6: Click on "Have Disk...".

Step 7:  Click on "Browse..."

Step 8:   Browse to the extracted "android_winusb.inf" file's location, select it, and click on Open:

 

Step 9:  Click Ok

Step 10:  Choose "Android ADB Interface" and click on "Next".

Step 11:  Click on "Yes" for the "Update Driver Warning"

Step 12:  Click on "Install"

Step 13:  You're done

Click on Close.  fastboot devices should now show an entry for your Fxtec Pro1 X device.

Why does this have to be so hard?  Hope this helps someone else.  Thanks Google!  Tested on my Windows 11 machines.
