how do you install another rom using sd card?

Recommended Posts

for example, if i'm on another rom like lineage, and i would want to install another type of rom like aicp,, only using the sd card, no cables or PC.

img and zip files are installed unto the memory card.

do i boot into recovery and apply update, or factory reset it first, or ? what would be the steps?

main problem is, i can't get the pc to verify fastboot devices...
... and now,, my computer doesn't recognize adb devices,,, let alone fastboot devices..

Usually things to try are

* Use different ports

* Reinstall the ADB driver and ensure its googles (microsoft one doesn't work properly)

* Use a different cable (I always use my nintendo switch controller cable)

But I guess you probably have done this why asking.  TBH I've never tried doing it from SD card so can't advise on that 😞

You can try to download some linux ISO and create live USB, for example Mint one and install missing stuff like adb and fastboot and try there (its possible even on live USB mode so you don't need to install OS on your PC).

Yeah what 3zet said might be best that way it would be a clean install.

I'm trying to remember how I installed the drivers last time but I am pretty sure I just used https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb

thanks,, that did it for me.  it was this google drive that i was missing.
i tried the linux one, but it was late and i was waiting for all the downloads and fell asleep. :))
