D8s 0 Posted August 10, 2021 Share Posted August 10, 2021 Looking at the new pro1x, and lineage os as a way to get Google out of my life, but I've read about some issues with android carplay needing Google play services. Hook 3,020 Posted August 10, 2021 Share Posted August 10, 2021 If you are talking about Android Auto (maybe it is called Carplay outside the US?), yes, it requires Google Play services. Google maps too. However, music and phone should work fine over BT alone, but you'll need an alternative method of navigation than google maps, like a GPS unit (or in-dash navigation). AFAIK, it is only minor details that makes it different, like a different keyboard mount (it covers the screws) i'm not sure what else is different. It got no imei, so I can not use it as a phone, so some of the phone antennas might be missing too without me noticing.. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
