rjohns16 0
Hello, hope everyone is well. I have bought a f(x)tec pro1 x that runs Android, and I am keen to install Lineage OS on the device. However, I am not very tech savvy and I don't seem to be able to do it using the guide on the Lineage website. I follow the steps, but the device doesn't respond as the guide says it should. Are there any good video install guides that have been created, or indeed are there any technicians or anyone who can help install it on a phone? Any help appreciated. claude0001 1,343
We can't help if you don't disclose what is not working. The how-to on the Lineage wiki is a s complete as it gets. What is the first step that fails in your case? If you are using a Windows PC for flashing, it is likely that you need to install the Google OEM driver to get fastboot to work ...
EskeRahn 5,464
Another common issue is the pc being too NEW, as it typically is easier to get fastboot working with usb 2 than usb 3 on a windows pc- though it can work with usb3 also. Fastlboot is rather picky with windows, but seems to be less picky under linux
Kzin 33
I had issues with USB not connecting, on my AMD Ryzen pc, my partners intel connected no problems.
claude0001 1,343
I've been using a Raspberry Pi3 for all my Pro1(-X) flashing for years. Its rustic USB turned out to be 100% reliable for adb and fastboot. Plus installing the latter is just an "apt install" away in Raspberry Pi OS. This is in contrast to my (Debian) Linux-PCs that repeatedly had problems with fastboot connections to my Pro1s.
rjohns16 0
Hello everyone, thanks for the responses. I have persevered following the wiki on the Lineage OS site and this YouTube video for some tips ( Where I get to is the Installing Lineage Recovery using fastboot step. I can get the command prompt to send the boot.img file to the phone, but it does not reboot into recovery following this. It just boots into the Android recovery menu and will not start usual Android either. I have tried to install a few time, but am now at a point where the phone itself won't boot, and the Lineage install can't get past this stage, Any help would be appreciated.
