  5. Sadly I highly doubt that more will ever be produced, nor that they have any left to send out. Though they in theory might make a new one I highly doubt it will ever happen - frankly I'm positively surprised that this community site is still kept alive.

  6. The latest build of LineageOS 16.0 for OG Pro1 (qx1000) is available at https://findus.zwergenschaenke.net/~puma/linux.html#lineagepro1 The ROM dated 20250625 gives you: Backported AOSP security fixes up to the June 2025 ASB. A system Webview and browser updated to version 137.0.7151.72. Have a lot of fun.

  8. It would be far easier to stay with lineage 21.0: That branch still gets patched with ASB fixes upstream, so all you'd have to do is fetch the source tree and make the build, which is piece of cake. Basically all you need is a Ubuntu virtual machine with enough storage and RAM. Because of the new QPR release scheme, staying with 22.1 is more complicated: Only the latest QPR (22.2 as of writing) is getting patched according to the ASB. 22.0 and 22.1 are not and I'm not sure if the available ASB patches for 22.2 could be directly applied to them. At least in the long run you'd probably have

  9. Sorry for answering so late, I do not check this thread very often any more. In Settings, navigate to Display -> Advanced -> Style and set Style to "Dark". Then, on the same page, set "Dark mode" from "Default" to "Black". Unfortunately, the default launcher and other system apps (contacts, phone, gallery, ...) are not yet prepared to pick up a dark system theme. This is Pie after all 🙂. You should be able to find suitable third-party substitutes in most cases, though.

  11. nothing constructive to add but i just wanted to say thanks i use my pro1 as my daily driver with VZW and would've hated to have to go through downgrading to a version that doesn't have battery problems.

  12. I have managed to find a recovery for the "microG" flavour of LineageOS 22.1 and that has allowed me to flash 22.1. For future reference if anyone needs, I downloaded it here from microG's website. The archived image from timschumi as pointed out by @TeZtdevice worked perfectly. I have just booted into 22.1 and will check battery life and usability in the next couple of days. Thanks for all the help! EDIT: Daaaargh! I forgot to remove my google account from the phone when I was on 22.2. Now I can't re-login on the phone on 22.1! Had to reflash LOS without MindTheGapp

  15. It is highly advised to take a backup of your device specific partitions right after you receive the device. Update 20220829: tl:dr: Community has not found a safe way to restore backups as of yet. Making below described backups is still highly advised for a future where some wizard found a reliable way to restore those backups. For now, if you have broken sensors from flashing another OS, the restorecon method described in the "Repair sensors/ folder..." section does 100% work to fix those while retaining your attestation keys. While restoring any backup has a high chance to make the keys

  16. I received the phone (Pro1x) in one of the first batches and I did order it from the website. It might have been due to some (lucky for me 😉 ) confusion at FxTec, because I alse made an IndieGoGo order of the spare battery (and never received it), thus I was _also_ an IndieGoGo contributor (who paid more for the phone due to higher price on the website - as a compensation for a supposedly lower risk of paying but not receiving anything - cough, cough - and yet even more due to additional money paid for a never delivered spare battery).

  17. try restoring back to stock android and repeat the process?

  18. Well it depends a bit on what you mean. Originally yes,, I for one bought a Pro1 ages back, and got it in 2019. but I have no idea when a weborder was last sent out,

  19. I see a LOT of changes for the 20250614, including something with network callback. The 20250621 seems to contain only minor changes, And 202506207 does not look related. Anyone tried either release and see if they make Lineage usable again on a Pro1?

  20. In theory I think yes, but in practise very hard without seeing the display. One option could be to copy the content of the entire user partition, but again some interaction with the phone might be needed. If you have allowed google to take backup, at the least some data is saved. And if you allowed google to stea...erhm STORE your pictures, they will be saved in the cloud too, maybe in poor resolution though. But start booting it to bootloader. If you see a menu, it is software 'only', so you would know that you are unlikely to need a new display.

  21. Digging three years back in history, we had odd battery issues previously, that magically disappeared Back then 10% per day was good, and 30% per day was horrible. Interesting to compare with the numbers we get with even 22.1 not to mention 22.2

  22. Totally agree, and I really only use it for testing the usability of LOS, and have it idle as a workphone, that does not ring each month anyway... So would easily overlook al kind of bugs myself, I just check that it installs smoothly, check if the keyboard works (and it has not really worked for me for quite a while) - and else keep it on stand by. So if I suddenly could not make or receive a call there could go half a year before I found out....On the other hand a drop in idle stand by was quickly spotted.....

  23. Well, Yesterday 11pm, I reset my phone. Now, I´m back on LOS 22.1.😐

  24. Oh I know it is good people doing their best - I'm just frustrated, sorry for whining. But as you keep the 16.0 alive, we can hope that you, or someone else with the suitable knowledge, can keep the 22.1 alive, if the 22.2 stay broken.... Let us see what the coming months or the 23.0 next year will bring. But as this is a bug not all seem to see, I guess the chance for it ever being fixed is slim. As with any bug the first step to a fix very often goes trough being able to reproduce it.

I think the April 1st dates in previous posts was a typo I kept perpetuating. Lol. So far well behaved, battery-wise. Lost 3% in 2 hours including activity post-update. Edit: Looks good. 7 hours, yes, mostly idle, but has only dropped 10%. That's par for the course given that I have background mail, dropbox ans calander syncing.

  30. I don't know if I have a suggestion, but I suspect more information is needed. Is this a Pro1x that was formerly working ok and this just suddenly happened? Or did it do this when you got it. If the former, what kinds of things were you doing with the phone? Is it Stock Android or did you flash some other ROM? Anything you can tell people will help them decide if they know something you can try.

I guess start here: backup persist. try adb method first. requires unlocked and a recovery boot if above doesn't work, install EDL (see readme and OP) edl r persist persist_backup.img edl r modemst2 modemst2_backup.img edl r modemst1 modemst1_backup.img edl r fsc fsc_backup.img edl r fsg fsg_backup.img flash your OS of choice:

  34. I found a way to backup partitions that also works for windows, with just the usual ADB on the PC. HOWEVER this ONLY works for an unlocked device. ADD: The below only works on Linieage/AICP not stock android, see also this If not unlocked - unlock wiping data, or look for another method.... Make sure that your phone is in developer mode [*], and allows adb to connect as root (the phone does NOT need to be rooted) Connect cable and run (first time you must accept the connection from the pc) adb root adb shell find /dev/block/platform -name "by-name" -exec ls -al {}

  36. I wouldn't be too bothered to bring a dock, keyboard (which is already tiny) and all, as it would replace my 1.5 kg laptop in my backpack (plus I don't need a mouse if I have a touchpad/tactile screen). The display would be my main concern. But to be honest, when I need a screen to work more seriously I will certainly have one to connect too (friend's house tv, university, work...). The pro x1 would also be more powerful than my laptop at least in term of ram (I don't know how amd64 and arm ships can compare), which was already enough for me. I don't really want an "ecosystem". I usual

  37. I too was a die-hard fan of the N900. 🙂 I am quite happy with my hybrid Lineage+Devuan system now, which provides almost everything my N900 could do, but you are right that there are limits (HW accelerated graphics, transparent FS access, ...) because of Android concepts standing in the way. Note that UbuntuTouch comes with very similar limitations: It too is designed primarily as a phone OS and copys some of Andoid's concepts. E.g. apps are individually sandboxed, native "phone" apps and "desktop" Ubuntu software live in separate worlds, the latter running in libertine containers wi

  38. Right, Pro1 can be very handy to do real things like logging into a server and do what is necessary, which is very frustrating on any touch keyboards. However, the one and only real and well-working Linux phone I used so far which also had a keyboard was N900. Although Pro1-X will also come with Ubports, so some kind of a Linux ecosystem will exist, nowadays one have to have an Android phone because of other services, and as it is a very restricted system, it seems for me the very same well-working environment what N900 had is not working anymore if you don't want to bring another de

  39. Yes and no. The Pro1 (and, by extrapolation, the future Pro1-X) can be set up as a quite OK always-carry-on GNU/Linux computer. I achieved that using rooted LineageOS + a custom-made Devuan chroot (see this thread for an entry point). Similar results can certainly be obtained using stock Android combined with a solution like Termux if you do not want to root, especially if a Un*x CLI is everything you really need. In fact, if you ordered your Pro1-X with UbuntuTouch you may (hopefully) be good to go pretty much out-of-the-box. None of these solutions breaks the "phone" functions in any wa

Will report back in some hours if it seems to have become usable.... ADD: From 94% to 23% in 11hours, so 6½% per hour, so still completely useless! Oh well back to 22.1 it is...😠

  42. I was curious about the availability of the replacement LCDs (Elephone U Pro display) as I hadn't checked in quite a while. The result is a bit alarming. Aliexpress, which used to be a reliable source (the little shops would run out, but other little shops would pop up with it), now seems to be completely wiped out on these. In fact the only link that came out of searching that still worked was this: https://www.amazon.com/Jaytong-Replacement-Elephone-Pro-Assembly/dp/B0B6362SSK It is double to triple the price it used to be on Aliexpress, and the seller's ratings are not stellar,

  43. EskeRahn, I quickly glanced at the post about screen replacement and saw that CornholioGSM is located in the EU. I'm in NYC. So probably not feasible. When I press the on button today there was a flash of the wall paper intact and then black again.

  44. Thank you, EskeRahn for the link! Unfortunately, today, mere hours ago, my Pro1x showed jumpy lime green lights at the bottom of the screen, then the top started darkening. I pressed on the power button to shut it down. I was able to see the red left before it started to fade to black. I touched the middle of the 3 selection (from memory). When I got home I plugged in the power and a bright light flashed....then darkness. I don't know the extent of the problem and i have not backed up in a while. Unless by some miracle my 2nd Pro1x gets shipped to me I will have to comb the forum for
