No, they don't align with any of the screws in either position. My guess - leftovers from earlier revisions.

HINT: Clicking the images does nothing, BUT if you right click and select to open in a new tab, you get the images in a much higher resolution. Especially interesting with the (currently) last one where the battery and other stuff are visible.
Good point! That's easy enough to fix though 🙂

If it is not too late an single picture from less close by showing the entire opened part of the bottom half would be nice, same for the screen side and bottom of keyboard. Thanks very much for documenting this :). Surprisingly little damage visible from the water.
Thanks to your comment I've finally decided to publish my teardown guide I've been working on for some time 🙂 https://gelraen.github.io/fxtec-pro1-teardown/ (forum topic)

Anyone know what material keys are made of and what's the black coating?
I'm considering getting additional labels laser engraved and engraving shop is asking for these details.

Thanks a lot! This means that it's more likely to be specific to Pro1 than Pie.

It shouldn't, I could still reproduce the bug with SwiftKey installed but inactive.

So it is somehow seems to be related to either Pie or specifically the Pro1. How odd!?! 🤯
Gboard AND (Pie OR Pro1) 🙂 Testing on another Pie device with Gboard could provide a useful data point. Either way, I've filed in-app feedback from Sheets on Pro1, maybe something will come out of it.

If you have an adapter lying around and not BT keyboard, try connecting a USB keyboard to the Pro1 and see what happens.
Yeah, tried that, and it deletes characters as well.

I have a Pixel 4 with stock android (although it's 10, not Pie, so major OS upgrade might change things) - doesn't reproduce with both BT and USB keyboard.
Thanks for the tip about SwiftKey, that kind of points into direction of Gboard being at fault... except that Gboard on Pro1 and Pixel 4 mentioned above have identical version IDs

Indeed, that produces the same result 😮 Do you have a reference to Sheets bug report?

Open Google Sheets app, create a new spreadsheet, tap on any cell to set input focus there. Type some characters then press spacebar on physical keyboard - and watch characters you typed disappear.
This happens with default layout, stock android English layout, and with FinQwerty layouts as well.

+1 to placement being awful for portrait mode and generally holding the phone in your hand. Adding the part of the palm that triggers it most often as a separate fingerprint seems to make it less annoying 😄
But I'd still very much prefer placement as in first Google Pixel: round thing on the back, image attached. That would be perfect for index finger in portrait mode and left middle finger in landscape.- 1

Bump. As of today, with latest updates it's still only L3, which means that, for example, Netflix will stream only SD quality video. Are there any more recent news on the timeline for L1 to be available?

...i mean that best app for led colors, flashing etc is LightFlow
Nope, doesn't work. I mean, it does work for app notifications, but not for what I want to do: LED still lights up when charger is plugged in, despite having a rule in LightFlow to turn it off when charging.

I can't figure it out 🙂 It's not used in the character map, as far as I can tell. If I try using it as a modifier, it seems to swallow some of the keys, and that's about it.
Does it do anything else?

It was controllable early on, but they changed that, as the placement of the individual RGB had the effect that in some angles one were more or less blocked, giving a wrong resulting colour. So what is best/worst is hard to say. But as so many details, it COULD be an option people could choose.
I would appreciate even controlling whether it's on or off for a particular event and level of brightness. Controlling color is much less important for me here 🙂

Is there way to customize notification LED? Problem I'm facing right now is that while connected to power and already fully charged, LED is shining in bright green. And because I normally charge my phone overnight, this means that it illuminates half the room the whole night.
I've tried to use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koo.lightmanager3, but it seems to have no effect whatsoever.

Oh wow, you're right! 😄 You can actually see them align on a fully assembled phone too! Then, yeah, it's probably for easier access to those screws, although it seems a bit futile - removing the stickers that way would be hard, especially the middle one. But might've been handy on dev prototypes.
