  1. The key character maps labelled 'Android Keyboard' are all from AOSP, and end up inside the InputDevices apk (com.android.inputdevices). You can download them from the link I posted last month, modify them to work better on the Pro1, and ask Anssi to add them to FinQwerty.
  2. If you are interested in improving the layouts, the source files are here: https://github.com/aosp-mirror/platform_frameworks_base/tree/master/packages/InputDevices/res/raw
  3. There are two Russian keyboard layouts included with stock Android. They aren't optimized for the Pro1, but you could check if they are usable. You can find them in the settings app under system->languages->physical keyboard->Fxtec Pro1->set up keyboard layouts
  4. In EDL mode the device waits to receive an executable signed with the correct key. The common use for this mode is to load and run a 'firehose' low-level flashing tool. If you are interested in learning more, I recommend this article from Aleph Security.
  5. We already have the source code required to build our own alternative ROMs. The kernel source is on GitHub, as well as a device tree for LineageOS. This may still be at a pre-release level of reliability, but that is just a matter of debugging effort. The future is only limited by the effort people are willing to put into development for the Pro1, and not by any sort of licensing restrictions.
