Just when I was prepared to wait another six or more months for the Pro¹ (or now rather Pro¹ X) I had ordered in September 2019, now I got lucky – and my hands on a used device!

It came with (non-rooted) LineageOS 17.1 (February 15 update installed like a charm from within the system menu) and all the apps I need work, even banking and the health insurer's app (and Netflix via APK), except only one, the "Entrust IdentityGuard Mobile Softtoken" app for connecting to my employer's VPN from the home office. For the time being, I guess I'll just keep my old phone lying on my desk.

Except from that, only two issues so far – the caller volume problem in telephone calls (actually I have to explicitly enable the speaker to hear anything, and then of course it's too loud), and the fingerprint scanner forgetting my fingerprints on each reboot. While I probably have to search the forum again for every issue that will yet appear, I halfway remember that one – there's something that needs to be deleted through ADB...

Even the camera seems to work very well – HDR doesn't look too nice, but everything else seems ok, no autofocus issues with longer distances, whether with the default camera app or my favourite, the 'manual camera' app that even lets me get RAW (DNG) files from this camera.

Oh, and if this isn't a good sign: I easily managed to flip up the screen at first try! 😉

And I admit that reading this forum for so long without having the phone myself slowly began to get on my nerves!

Cheers!

You're obviously talented. I can't do that single-handed half a year into using the phone 🙂. I did stop training after the Pro1 almost jumped out of my hand once.

Congrats on your purchase. This user forum naturally tends to over-emphasise the problems of the Pro1. All-in-all, it is a quite solid phone. While there certainly are devices with significant manufacturing flaws, I suspect they are a very small minority.

I really wonder if they changed the hinge mechanism along the way because I have never owned anything like a Pro1 before and when I got it I could easily open it and now I can easily open it with one hand.
