  1. Hi guys,

I just received the e-mail to pay for my preorder – but now I have a huge problem.

No, it is not money, because I saved up for the Pro1…

    BUT

    I have no Debit-Card or Credit-Card.

I can only transfer money via my bank account or by PayPay. I would even pay the Paypal-fee on top.

Is there a option to pay, for people without creditcards like me?

    Please reach out to https://www.fxtec.com/contact/

I got a solution from Erik-FX since my Credit card payment failed over and over again. You're not lost, give them some time to answer, include your pre-order number. Good luck!

  2. How on earth did my reply get in front of the original post???

    8-O

the date and time of the post is now the time the post was 'activated'. Maybe you activated your post before the initial one.

On the PQ you can see bright light around the keys. This is not the case with the pro1, the keyboard's backlight is only visible where it is supposed to be.

See the attached picture for a comparison.

  3. My early pre-order date won't help me either, and I'm afraid to receive the payment notice some hours too late. F(x)tec mentioned their choice of processing the first orders already a week ago, I guess they thought well enough about it and won't chance it now.

On the company's point of view, this method of processing might be the quickest to collect the funds necessary to keep the production busy and quickly distribute the devices. Who knows how many early pre-orderers were made, and the customers forgot about that? make that number 50, meaning 50 devices waiting for a week, maybe for the next week aswell, devices which could already be shipped..

  4. F(x)tec mentioned, that they currently want to make sure that all QWERTZ devices are shipped to Europe.. I guess they check the orders manually if you request the qwertz layout afterwards, and might decline US-QWERTZ requests.

Might be related to logistics, because the QWERTZ devices will all be shipped to and from the UK.

  5. unfortunately they didn't share any numbers, I asked for them. But it was pretty clear, that the first units will be shipped out then. They will not be able to fulfill all the pre-orders within the first weeks.

  6. The first units are planned to be shipped until mid-september. This is the status Adrian shared during the Meeting in Düsseldorf on 23rd. As said elsewhere, expect an official announcement and a newsletter next week!

  7. Hi there,

What do you think of the idea of adding another platform for us to stay connected, suggest Ideas and spread information? This Board is sure a great opportunity, but since we are even closer to the release, a more efficient way of direct communication beetwen us users could help everyone.

I am not talking about ditching the Forums, especially for newcomers this should be the first adress for questions.

In my opionion, a platform with the possibility of attaching files and having different channels for different topics is a great soluton. I also get that not everyone (including me) wants to create yet another account somewhere, good old IRC would reach most of us aswell I guess, and can be integrated on the website rather easy. But we might miss a chat history and files.

It would be awesome if the team could join us there aswell!

Adrian pointed out that we as a community are an important driving force, and the team wants and needs to be close to us.

Short poll to get some numbers quickly:

    please vote here

    Thanks for reading.

  8. I tested sideloading the ARCore app today on a firmware build dated 12.07.2019, but the app i tried said 'AR not supported on this device.'. I did not have time to test more apps, maybe the first one I picked from the play store was just bad. the build was not 'approved' by google yet, but F(x)tec said they were about to get the gmo certificate stuff soon.

  9. Off-Topic, but referring to Tomasz Papaj's post:

I loved the optical trackpad HTC used for the Desire Z / Vison / Google G2, which was superior to Apple's boring Home-Buttons. The HTC Wildfire had this aswell, and the early Blackberrrys something similar as far as I can remember. (Trackball?)

You could push the button to select something, and swipe this button to move the cursor or get to another input field very quickly. Acted like arrow-keys, but much more intuitive and quicker to use. Editiing texts will never get that precise again.

  10. abielins,

the only band listed on your wikipedia link which is currently used on freedom mobile and which not seems to be supported is the FDD LTE Band 66, 1700Mhz. All other currently active bands are supported. I don't see an issue with using the Pro1. Band 4 is also 1700MHz, and that frequency is supported and used alot worldwide.

please note, this is not an official statement or confirmation.

  11. About the Event in Düsseldorf, there are two timeslots available, but each timeslot has 2 different times written in the description? Which times are correct? Sorry if i’m missing something obvious.

EDIT, Ahhh now i see the 13-15 and 15-17 mention in the screenshot.

That was a timeframe discussed at the start of planning and has been changed to 15-18, 18-21.

I guess it is a typo of some sort or not fully edited record when changing from earlier planning.

Yes, that is my point. Any confirmation which is the correct time now?

    Seems to be fixed now.

    Session 1 15:00-18:00

    Session 2 18:00-21:00

  13. I'm totally on your side here, refreshing the site several times a day, longing for more information.

But I can't agree to the black-painting: Even if the information and updates are not on a regular basis, spread across different platforms, remember the folliwing: not a single update was a step back. The device is happening. Several people, not only invited press, were able to hold the mostly final product in their hands, EskeRahn propably already uses it as a daily driver (surpressing jealousy here). And the minor delay from "july" to "summer" might, as written elsewhere, just be a warning to new pre-orderers, since the first batch is already completely sold out??

The team's "free-time" seems to be used for planning community events all over the globe, we all got that info. I doubt that that is a one-man job of some hours planning.

Relax, enjoy the weather, come back in a week, hope for news until then. If there is something urgent, I'm sure there will be a newsletter in your inbox.

  14. Well my pre-order number is 8686 so if they went from 1 they are not doing to bad on pre-orders and if the device is solid a lot of them people would back a second device I would expect as well.

Mine is at 44xx, and I am sure I was one of the first.. In other threads you can read about order numbers 18xxx.. I tried talking to Liangchen about that, but we won't get any numbers anytime soon, I doubt they started at 0, and I don't know if single orders always add a +1 to the number, maybe even and 'add to cart' counts for this number.

Again, lots of speculation. I personally would not trust these numbers as they are.
