  1. You can get phones with the same SoC for half the price. Yes. Now try it the other way: Look for how much you can get a current phone-like device with a hardware keyboard. For non-sliders there are a few options, but those won't let you get away much if any cheaper and may even sport slower hardware. This is the price of niche hardware. I don't doubt we all wouldn't mind a lower price. But there are many factors in this. Low volume, unknown demand, high development costs, just to name a few. Economy of scale makes it worse. They also need to profit a bit on this to stay afloat.
  2. Not gonna lie, that protector looks very cheap compared to that phone sitting inside it. A case not protecting the screen is pretty much worthless to be honest. A flipcase would probably work really well with the angled slider mechanism instead. Alternatively there's still the good old full bag with slide out option.
  3. QWERTY will be fine for me personally as long as there's a hassle free way to add some characters behind modifiers. Read: Add, not switch to an existing layout. The layout shown off currently is actually rather low on symbols and has a lot of space for sensible international character placements. In fact, I'm surprised there's neither a € or a £ to be found for a UK based company's device. After spending a lot of patience waiting on the mod that never came to be (I understand how it happend, but time is time), I certainly won't wait for alternative layouts this time.
  4. Will the Pro1 be supported by Google's ARCore? This less a question of the hardware supporting it rather than apparently Google whitelisting each device after a certification, which worries me a bit with niche devices. Not a deal break either way, but I thought it would be nice to play around with it sometimes.

Posted this already the general unanswered question topic, but I don't think it'll get noticed at as it's already burried under the other posts. btw. I see a few people posting as if they're working for f(x)tec, but it doesn't seem like there's any indicator for users who actual
  6. This forum certainly has some issues to be honest. I had trouble registering since instead of actual error messages you get a generic Word Press error page stating "Invalid Nonce" when your password doesn't comform the required format, which you aren't told before any of it pops up, when using Pale Moon. Possibly also on Firefox, not sure since I tried with Opera afterwards. Apart from that, social media logins are a nice idea and I would've used that instead if you had anything that wasn't Facebook maybe.
