well there is another option. if Fx offer a dropping insurance. so we pay for this and then when we drop it then FX gives us a brand new one

Anyway guys i think if we talk about dropping it then we have to face the consequences. we may be lucky as EskeRayn and no damage doe or it may be a bad day and it will break into 500 pieces. the only solution to this is to have multiple of these phones. like i am going to buy at least 5 pro1 devices.

Well i do know, i am still using nokia E7 which is around 10 years old. but i cab drag myself to use it but it cant do most of the tasks now. for example all my bank apps require to have latest os with latest updates and security and hence it wont work on E7

well that sound like its not that fragile then. but i tell you what I WILL NOT DROP IT!

How can it last for decades?! even if we assume we keep it in a glass case and never drop of damage it, even then in todays world the technology for both hardware and software/os changes so rapidly that after 3 to 4 years it will be an obsolete technology and wont keep up with all the new tech.

I would suggest not to think about dropping it. Just make sure you never drop it

Well i dont understand one thing. you guys worried about the screen in case it drops. but since pro1 who body is made of plastic so i dont think its a good idea to think about dropping it. because apart from screen it can also crack the plastic body. EskeRhn can shed some light on how tough the plastic body is?

E7 has a bit different design where it has edges on top and bottom not part of the slkiding screen and thats where all the covers hold the grip in the case of pro1 the whole top is the screen so im not sure how the case will work

Well sleeve is not a good option. so each time you get a call you will have to take it out of sleeve first. without case, apart from scratches (which is not good idea) there is another issue that i have seen on E7 and since pro1 has very similar design it will prolly have too. the issue without cover is that after sliding phone in your pocket in and out for sometimes the glass top on the camera section will come off. its because the glass piece is flat on the surface. it happened to my E7 many times

Ahh sorry David for misunderstanding The magnetic cable/adapter i have been using is DYNALink. it comes with both usb c and micro usb adapters. No E7 has mirco usb port and i used the micro usb adapter. but this cable pack also included usb c adapter that i was using with Note 8

Well didnt Erik said yesterday that they are making a video update right now. so that means it was made yesterday.

Well i tried couple of brands where were available here locally. those were not from Samsung though. and apart from killing battery it used to make phone pretty hot because phone has to stay on qi charger for long. yes qi charging for me was much slower then connecting cable. i was using Galaxy note 8. and not i use usb c magnetic cable where usb c adapter stays in permanently in the phone. so to protect phone usb from damage cause by inserting usb c cable in and out. is there any downside of using magnetic usb cable or keeping adapter in the phone?

does anyone here has any experience with developing andriod apps in Qt?

I am really getting confused. The FX update video suggest it will be shipping in one week or so. so other in here suggesting 2 weeks. But why some are suggesting xmas? does that means we have to wait and see until december? Maybe Erik can you please give some info on it?

Erik can i really make a request to you, that if you can start posting on regular basis up till what order numbers have been shipped and how long the remaining order should expect. I see so many negative comments here today. If you can update on orders on daily basis it will really help both FX and the customers, and will really help those who are further down the line. When FX sent email to inform that you will receive another email for payment so pay as soon as you get email in order to get your pro1 before october, i set a loud alarm for my email notification. then the alarm went off in the middle of the night while i was sleeping. so i got out of bed in the middle of the night and made the payment. Guys don't you think i deserve to be the first to get the device?! 🙂

Thanks Erik Its great to know that shipping will start from tomorrow as announced. Guys i think the most important part is the start of shipping on time. the updates are not as important since its almost time for shipping. so if they start shipping by tomorrow then FX have done a great job.

I think it was much needed as after we receive our devices this is the only place where we can get help regarding hardware, software and any queries related to Pro1 And i also think we in the near future need to organize this forum more. like different areas to hardware and software etc. Great work FX Team! and i really am very optimistic that shipping is starting on 29th october!

I think now all this doesn't matter because by now we shouldve already had pro1 in our hands. so what i really am interested only is to get the news about its shipped. This time FX has assured very much that shipping will be before or by 29th october. So lets really hope that we get our orders shipped by 29th october. This time i am really hopeful that it will be shipped by 29th october.

So Erik does that means that customers in other parts like i am in Australia has no hope to be shipped before november or beyond? i ordered in early march and it seems unfair that we in Australia will miss out the shipment in october?

Hi Guys As we are almost to early October, now as before i start seeing some talking about mid October and then November to be shipping date. It is so disappointing! its gonna go on forever. and then will come November and we will talk about December and January. And it is not a crowd funded project as some try to create misunderstanding. when we received the email asked to make payment that email specified that pay now to get it before October. I am pretty tired of all this. I have found another solution, i am going to buy Galaxy note 10 plus and the TECH21 EVO TYPE KEYBOARD CASE FOR GAL

I would like to ask that if realistically shipping will take more then 2 week then is there a way i can request a test version of the device? I have happy to pay for what Fx tec think is it would be. I need this device not for fun, i need it for my work and business. Since i have odered Pro1, i have stopped investing my timne and money on Nokis E7. so i am out of the device that i need. So please let me know if there is an option to get Test device by paying. Thanks

Thanks, Blachberrys are useless as they are not close to this thing. The only option i can see is Cosmos. it has good features. But again its the same problem, its not out yet and only available for pre-order. and cosmos has been on preorders for years and they have been keep moving final production date for 2 years.
