a small, random number of cases is never representative for a much larger total

I would disagree. A sample of data does give you a good representation for a larger data set. This poll, for example, shows that the number of forum members that have the device have roughly doubled in the last month. This would align with Fxtec saying they are delivering 1/10 of pre-orders every batch, and the assumption that the 3rd batch was delivered in December.

This poll is not representative whatsoever, it is not wise to make conclusions based on this

Why not? Got any other data to share? Fxtec implied that they haven't delivered more than half of the pre orders yet, so this matches with that.

I tried to activate my Pro1 on Google Fi (using my SIM from my currently active Nexus 5X) and received error ID B042.  I contacted Google support and they informed me that the Pro1 is not supported by Google Fi and will not work on their network.

So if you have Google Fi and you want to keep it, this is not the phone for you.

Google fi has a very limited selection of supported phones. You can check compatibility here: https://fi.google.com/compatibility

However, unsupported phones can still work, they just won't help you set them up. See here for details: https://support.google.com/fi/answer/6330195?hl=en

We want to explain why a very small number of retailers have the Pro1.

Firstly, they have approached us since we first announced Pro1 at MWC in Feb and we've been in discussions with them since. They have also promised to help with success of the Pro1 in the market place which is important for us. We have only given them a much smaller number of units than they asked for because of all the customer pre-orders. Our pre-orders are our most important customers. For us to be a strong company for you, we also have to build a sustainable business and if we turned those retailers away we would have lost their business going forwards.

Our priority is getting devices to our pre order customers, this has not changed.

Well, I'm disappointed that fxtec decided to do this. It feels like you asked for my payment when you were not ready to deliver my device, and now that you're late, you sold my device to someone else who better aligns with your business.

You know what builds a strong company? Trust and reliability.
