  1. After having a full days use of using this configuration, I can say I'm quite pleased with the results. I had no crashes and everything works as if it was native to the device. It brings back memories of my old nokia n900. its nice being able to use the keyboard and not have to rotate screen every time. Please share your desktops as well!

  2. Hi,

I have finally figured out how to do it. However, just keep in mind I am running /e/ OS which is an OS built on top of lineage so theoretically the setup proceedures may be identical.

Below are the steps that I`ve taken:

    -enable developer mode

-in dev options enable the "force activities to be resizable"

    -install app rotation control

-enable app and set to landscape mode

-turn on screen rotation in display settings and enable rotation to only 90 degrees [if you do not have (system) screen rotation activated even though "rotation control" app is forcing it, apps that force portrait mode will crash]

I use a launcher called lynx launcher and have purchased pro version. I have adjusted the desktop grid to the max and have set display scale to small in display settings. This setup allows me to have a desktop feel and landscape mode. See screenshot below.

  3. Make sure your cell phone provider connects to the same network bands as what the phone supports. This is important because every carrier may support 3g/4g/LTE but connect with different bands. You have to do some research on your end and when you do find the right carrier, the phone will not have these issues unless it is defective device itself.

    No.

    Should I ?

If yes how and which partiton?

There are 3 mountpoints that are shown as 100% usage:

    /android

    /dev/mapper/dynpart-system_ext_a

    /dev/mapper/dynpart-product_a

All other have planty of space.

I found a quick troubleshoot. Is your userdata ext4? If not you need to format it.

Someone in the past had an issue with partitions as well and confirmed reflashing them in fastboot had fixed it. You will lose your data.

I'm using LOS. I highly recommend just using it as a mini laptop as the cellular capabilities of this phone are really poor.

If you can get at least data to work, i strongly recommend using VoIP with this device. In Canada, we still have 3g available and that appears to work flawless on this device. But anything other is a write off for cellular capabilities but data will work.

    Hi all,

I am late to the party. I didn’t expect to receive this device and it showed up at my door late last week. I am really struggling to install Sailfish on the qx1050. I followed the instructions in the first post of this thread and I can’t get past the “Powered by Android” boot screen. I tried both the March 2023 (Sailfish 4.5) and October 2022 (Sailfish 4.4) releases. I booted to the bootloader, ran the flash.sh script. Each time it states the script has completed successfully but no joy. Can anyone advise me as to what to do?

UPDATE: I figured out what I did wrong.  When I first got the device I tried out Lineage OS.  I flashed it to Lineage for a few days to test it.  When I tried flashing Sailfish using the script above from the LineageOS Recovery it would not boot.  I decided to start from scratch.  I flashed the FxTec stock Android successfully and then tried to flash Sailfish after that.  It worked like a charm.  I wanted to leave this here in case anyone else runs into the same issue as there appears to be limited information regarding this device.

How is Sailfish os on this phone? Does everything work OK? Camera/video recording work? Can you run waydroid on it?
