berlinux 6
Hello, everyone! Today i got my pro1 and run into issue. Esc key is mapped to "Back" in Android and it impossible to use e.g. vim in termux. Any option to change the behavior in stock firmware? Regards!
_DW_ 628
They are releasing an update to fix that but I think @netman sent it to them and posted on here somewhere.
netman 1,424
I did not change ESC behaviour though, but I think it will change with OTA also. Until then you can use Finqwerty to solve it (it can also do US qwerty layout and they fix ESC behaviour). Also you could edit the keymap manually if you have root, but I highly recommend Finqwerty instead because of convenience. If you do want to edit the keymap directly, it is in /system/usr/keychars/Vendor_181d_Product_5018_Version_0001.kcm and you have to remount / as rw first.

zurvan2 125
For termux, just create ~/.termux/termux.properties with the line: back-key=escape See https://wiki.termux.com/wiki/Terminal_Settings
netman 1,424
Just noticed ETA for back->esc change was announced as coming shortly after chinese newyear along with some other updates: And interesting that you can also fix it in termux :).
Craig 1,435
You've probably explained why I've noticed Termux behaves differently than other apps in regards to keymaps; its got its own! 1
