  1. My two poochies Henry and Jess exploring 'The Redwoods' in Rotorua NZ. I can't believe how attentive and well behaved they look in this pic, my girlfriend must have said the word 'biscuit' as I took the shot.

  2. As @Hook wrote, there will be no more official updates of Android 9 for the Pro1, let alone upgrades to newer major releases. While there are several options to get your Pro1 an up-to-date OS, LineageOS is certainly the least obscure and, combined with a suitable distribution of the Google Apps, will give you the most "Android-like" experience. Installing LineageOS on the Pro1 is easy if you follow the instructions in the Wiki: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/pro1/. Presently, the officially supported release is LineageOS 19.1, which is based on the Android 12 Open Source Projec

  3. I recommend you take @Casey up on his offer. I suspect you'll get a pretty fast turn around, especially if you share your ticket number with Casey. And your problem will be solved. I had to send my Pro 1 to London twice and was very happy with the results both times. 🙂

  4. Hello all So good news and bad news! I tried the alternative steps that @Caseykindly suggested but to no avail. So as I am determined to sort this out I wondered if it was my laptop so I factory rebooted it. It worked, using the original method. Sadly the fingerprint scanner still doesn't feature in the security options. Also oddly the device storage was locked at 8GB. So I resetted the Android to factory and went back to 256GB. Did the flashing again and same thing 8GB max so reset Android and back to 256GB. But at a loss now as to resolving the original issue

  5. Venerable 835-Pro1 just got another updated build of LineageOS 16.0. At http://findus.zwergenschaenke.net/~puma/linux.html#lineagepro1 head for the ROM dated 20221026. This build includes backported patches from the Android Security Bulletins up to patchlevel "5 October 2022". I bumped the security string in the ROM accordingly. As noted already in the last update, since May 2022, the ASB backports for Pie lack upstream code-review and are no longer merged into the official LOS-16.0 branch. I see no problems with the build on my device, but please be aware of that before yo

  6. It never will. The contractor who was responsible for stock Android on the Pro1 is no longer involved. Your best bet (for so many reasons) is to switch to Lineage which is up to Android 12.

  7. so i think my initial problem was that the 'adb reboot edl' command was not taking the device into a 'full' edl mode. when I used the key combo to enter, my command advanced past the 'device detected' phase, only to stop again at 'trying to read the first storage sector'. How long should that process take?

  9. @EskeRahn the best dogs choose their owner. Im sorry for your loss. I am happy that you both got an awesome friend. With that being said, heres a pic of my boy when he decided to play with wasps this summer. Im sure you got similar memories to enjoy! Wrong thread, search for “off topic edible pets”

  11. How long should each of these processes take? My device gets to "firehose - Trying to read first storage sector..." and then just sits there.

  12. Thank you Casey. Sorry to clarify, I download the complete QPST package and then extract it which then gives me the all manor of things as well as the QFIL application. What is odd though is that the QFIL can only be accessed on the downloads folder of my C Drive and it does not show up in the actual Programme Files or App Data on the C Drive. Not sure if that could be the problem. But will read through the guide for sure.
