I still use my D4 as a daily driver, still play with some D1s, and am very annoyed that I cannot get the CM/LOS ROMs for them anymore. I still have some local copies, but anyone who is just now thinking of playing with them is just out of luck unless they have a friend who still has copies. Storage is cheap; why not keep legacy ROMs forever as curiosities? For certain things, some of the very old devices are still excellent. With how popular LOS is they get quite a lot of traffic, so maybe it isn't as cheap as you'd think? Also I don't think they have very much money.
