nmelnick 3
I'm looking to potentially pick up someone else's unopened, likely preordered Pro1. I know that QA defects are in the minority right now, but if I open this up and find issues, can I still get a replacement/repair from fxtec, or am I out of luck? nmelnick 3
Fair -- but they haven't been answering for some time, so was hoping somebody might be monitoring here.
Hook 3,043
Then you might at least do mentions for Erik and Waxberry so they get notifications. 😉
npatel1050 132
If the company stands behind their product, I wouldn't see that as an issue. Especially considering how new the phone is and early on in the life cycle

I bought a Pro1. Wasn't thrilled with it. Had some "me" issues. Sold it. Person who bought it had technical issues (USB not working and other things). They sent it in for a replacement. They were specifically told (and there is even a thread for it somewhere) that warranties go with the phone - not the person. 1

EskeRahn 5,471
Actually it is a complex question mentioned in other threads. In some countries the warranty obligations is for the direct buyer only. In other countries the warranty obligation can be transferred to the new owner. It could also be both a matter of the sellers and the buyers country. And with Brexit it could complicate things further for buyers in the EU. So you would have to find someone that know the juridical aspects in both your country and the UK, to have a clear answer. Unless of course F(x)tec courteously offers warranty even if it is beyond what they are legally obliged to do.

kashif 350
Ive bought it from someone. And Fx Tec in the email confirmed me that the warranty goes with the phone not person and so they also confirmed that therefore my pro1 is still under warranty based on pro1 serial number 1
Craig 1,435
I saw someone just tweeted they dropped theirs, landed on the screen. Chen tweeted back to send it in for warranty. So seems they're being quite flexible with warranty in general, as that's the kind of thing not usually covered under warranties in my experience... but I've had lots of experience with warranty following the device mfg date if you dont have original receipt or arent original owner, like western digital hard drives, compaq laptops (back in the day), my dustbuster... great companies often have a better policy than they're required to by law.
