Well, I hope someone does.

I'm not sure if it'd be Fxtec. When I went to the London meetup I got the impression that this is their one very specific niche that they want to work on and perfect. I might be wrong on that though.

If a portrait Fxtec doesn't appear, I think it's more likely to be done by a company that specialises in filling in niches, like Unihertz.

Never heard of them so had a look at there site guess what https://www.unihertz.com/shop/product/titan-pre-order-39😉

I think they more generally are interested in seeing if they can resurrect some lost ideas, so I would not be surprised if they would be interested in portrait also, IF they feel there is a market large enough also considering that it will cannibalise on the Pro1, as many of us users might accept both types but prefer one, and not only new users insisting on portrait. So it is a matter of the additional number of total keyboard users that could be added to the user base.

Yes it is basically a rugged version of the monster wide BB passport, with Android.

Yeah with up to date specs

TBH I'm tempted to get one, mainly as a phone to use when going out drinking beer 😄

Yeah, it is so big you can use the back as a plate eating 😇😜

It is nice that it is rugged though 👍,

To me the Passport design offers the worst of two worlds: A cramped always out keyboard and yet too big to possibly operate even partly one handed. The Key½ design I can understand, as you get a keyboard (though cramped), and a screen that at the least to some extend can be one hand operated.

I mean the Titan is really Titan-sized, it is humongous. Liiterally like three SonyEricsson txt pro landscape-keyboard-sliders side by side--- (including the weight)

Now that is tempting!  Screen resolution is on par with the Passport but still not as good as the Priv which is a bit of a shame since the Passport is getting on for 6 years old.

I always found the Passport to have the best keyboard hardware of any phone I had ever had.  Plus I loved that it was just a bit different.

Did you expect the display to be as good as the five year old Priv? 😇

...Jokes aside 441DPI is not a bad resolution at all, actually even 10% finer than the Pro1 (an aPple Iphony 11 has 326DPI).

Most humans can see details down to around 1/11000 of the viewing distance, as the extreme limit. (Note this is not a need, but what it is pointless beyond). So if held more than 25" (or 63cm) away you can not see the details, holding it a bit closer it will only be extreme images that would have looked better on a Priv. So that should not be what should hold you back on the Titan.

To be fair the Priv did have an amazing screen, even though it was probably table scraps from Samsung, since they were the only ones making curved AMOLEDs at the time.

But over time it does show its age when I put it next to the IPS on the Essential.

Ya know.......I am tempted too! LOL! It might just be the cure for the Treo 700p cravings I get occasionally.....

EDIT: Although, the keyboard on my 700p had the ALT key in the correct place, and someone really should tell them that they misspelled "Discription" LOL

Found a reasonably sober review over here , He is quite positive (well they sell it...), though he ends up with a little on who it is for... (Google translate)

Unihertz Titan is more suitable for builders, survivors and extreme tourists than passengers of a business jet, and this, in my opinion, is its main drawback.
