Pro1x Screen Repair (Using Dummy Pro1) Service?

Does anyone have a dummy phone pro1 they can use to program replacment screens for pro1x? Maybe they could offer a servise for a fee? I'd be willing to pay

Tomas @CornholioGSM says, that i can change/repair display without problem:) ...BUT at first you must be from EU (...because customs fees)...and then i can order new display but display can have ugly corners 😞

 

I have by me original my spare display with black frame ...but 3 corners have not good corner radius 😞

Note that the frame for Elephone U and Pro1 are NOT the same.

I ordered one of those screens and it just arrived yesterday. Im out of town until beginning of next month but when I get home I'll repair it and let you all know if the screens are calibrated.

That one claims to be the Elephone U frame, which, if true and probably is, the frame won't work on the Pro1.  There is one that claimed to have the frame for the Pro1 and I ordered one (it's in my closet-- luckily I haven't yet had a need for it).  Unfortunately, they are out of the frame. They do have the display.

But any of the Elephone U displays, without a frame will work on the Pro1. Just have to un-glue the old display from the frame and glue the new one. I haven't done it, but from what people have said, it isn't super aggressive gluing you have to undo.  Most phone shops can handle it if you are unsure.

Gotcha and thanks. I have already swapped the display on my Pro1 via the unglueing, but I have another Pro1 where the display has simply stopped working, possibly due to the twin ribbon cable being plugged and unplugged so many times for various repairs, so was hoping a new frame would fix that, either that or try to find a new ribbon cable.

That's a shame, I actually bought the above frame in the vain hope that it did fit, all  but 2 of the screw holes and ribbon cable connectors all seem to be in the right place, at the very least it should tell me if it's the ribbon cable or frame that's shot.

I also still have a working Pro1 which I used do flash the Touchscreen driver, also located in EU like @CornholioGSM, DM me here or via our Discord server if you want me to flash your screen.

I have a black semicircular blob on the bottom corner of my Pro1 X screen due to drop damage. Fortunately, it doesn't block any important parts of the screen just yet, but it's slowly getting bigger over time.

Yesterday I ordered what is apparently a replacement screen and digitizer for the Elephone U Pro from this Amazon link. Once it arrives, I'll test it with the Pro1 X directly, though I assume it'll need to be reflashed like all the others.

Is anyone still offering this service? I live in the US, which might make things tough, but I'm willing to cover any shipping and import fees as needed.

Sorry, I haven't been to attentive lately as Mrs. Hook has been having serious medical issues, but I am in the US (Virginia), I have a Pro 1 I don't use that much and, although I have never done this, I ought to be able to figure it out,  I'm assuming that if  I attach the screen to the cable and reflash to stock,  the dead zone will be fixed on the screen.  Would having the Pro 1 on latest stock and doing a factory reset with the new screen attached work?  I have several Alie Express Elephone U Pro displays, so I can test to make sure my assumptions are correct, although tips from people who have done this would be appreciated.  

Let me test and I'll get right back to you. I have no interest in being paid to do this, just would like to help out someone in the US rather than having them have to deal with overseas shipping.  If you have already set something up,go with it, but if not, give me a day to figure things out and I'll DM you.

Sadly, I think I'm giving up.  I managed to flash back the original stock, and I think even that was a miracle.  Not surprisingly, after doing 1 update, it couldn't do any of the others. So I got the 2020 version of stock, which should have the proper update, and  tried to flash it.  ADB worked fine, Fastboot identified the phone after reboot into bootloader, but then fastboot would just stop working.  Neither the flash_all nor trying each flashboot command manually worked.  The operation was just suspend. I would leave it a long while just to make sure it wasn't like when the percentage stops when sideloading.  And this is on Linux which has always worked easily. I did the whole port and cord dannce and even tried Windows.  It was always a failure with Fastboot.  It also won't flash back to Lineage, which has always worked flawlessly So, it is now stuck on a not really updated version of Stock Android 9 from 2019.

I've spent a day and a half on this .  This is a period of time when I don't have a lot of time.  The Pro1 already has stopped being able to make calls (doesn't even try).  I haven't really been using it in the past year and it is physically in pretty good shape.  It's a shame I can't get this to work as it would be a great purpose for it.

@jsreed5 If you want to take a crack at getting it to work, I might be willing to send it to you to try. At that point you could buy it at a very cheap "parts only" price, or return it to me. DM me if interested. If you get it to work, I even have a spare battery for it and some screens. I'd be willing to make a reasonable package deal for you,  I also have a spare, in box, never used except to keep charged) Pro1x I'll be looking to find a home for. I am happy with  the Pro1x I do use.

I'm sorry I couldn't do more. The Pro1's Flashboot has always been a bit finnicky, but in the past I was always able to work it out. Someone with more patience might still get it to work. With Mrs Hook having medical issues, and my not being the best technical guy, I just don't have the focus or time to do more. Sorry.
