  1. I seem to recall, but don't remember from where, that the update doesn't work with Android 11.

  2. Yes, today's build has the August 5th security patches but not the fix for the keymap bug. Trying to flash an older release triggers the rollback protection in the closed source components, and will force a factory reset to recover :-( Unfortunately we haven't found a fix for the problems with the touchscreen on other devices. This leaves us with a difficult choice, between the security patches and proper keymap support when the accessibility hook is enabled. I don't have any easy answer (other than building your own OS image), but the full details of the August security patches are here:

  4. (lineage-18.1-20210809-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on August 5 security patch installed smoothly using adb sideload and Open_Gapps-arm64-11-pico-20210712) ...But keyboard bug reintroduced is not yet fixed, see comment from @Sean McCreary above. Did not try to do a factory reset first... But did try to flash back to 0726, and that claimed the data to be corrupt, so was forced to reset... So made a third flash WITH a wipe... and that did not work with the 0809, so went back to 0726, with another wipe required. And things work again. I hope for better luck next week . 😇

  5. Thinking about it, the first time I had the screen replaced I could indeed still have been on LOS 16. That would explain it. (I would hate having to admit being too stupid to perform that relatively simple procedure 😉)

  6. See my reply above from March 29th, It still pretty much applies. They have kept their backers informed with monthly updates. If you are not ordering an already manufactured phone that is already sitting in a warehouse, there are no promises, only projections. And those projections are based on not much going wrong. You may regret the investment because of the time it is taking, and that is understandable, but they are being transparent about the sources of those delays.

  7. It took a while, actually a long while. Seems like the first package got lost, but the second arrived in a week (+1 week customs). I was able to replace the camera and the backplate today in 1-2 hours. It was pain and not fun at all as I'm not used to so small connectors 😄. If you are careful it is possible though. I broke my power button a bit, which is not so clicky anymore and feels so wrong 😄 It was successful though, the camera works again. So it wasn't a software issue. The back is also as new now. And I could learn something new today.
