I've done OTA update yesterday, no problems at all.

Long time no see 😁 I uploaded a new build 💩 Is there a way to "bump" this thread when I edit the first posting? Or do I have to reply to the thread each time I want to make people aware of a new build?

New to me too. 🙂 Let us tag @Elysia to see if she can find a way to make stuff like this more visible. If no smarter solution found, a pinned post with links to stuff like this might do the trick. Maybe the general header on https://www.fxtec.com/ could be added to the community too? Perhaps even with something smart like the 'Stars' in the community, to indicate if the other 'tabs' have content the logged in user have not (yet) seen?

F(x) Tec has now posted a repair guide with links to the above videos (though hard to notice... the active links are in the section titles, not the graphics). There is a note about further information on the FAQ page which isn't there, so I hope that is something being worked on. https://store.fxtec.com/fix-your-broken-smartphone-screen/ EDIT: I just now noticed the date on this repair blog page-- March 4th 2021. I certainly had no idea it was there (so, as the thread title says new to me 😉). I only discovered it when one of the regulars over on Discord found it.

Updated successfully OTA, but with a slight hiccup, to LineageOS version 18.1-20211025-NIGHTLY-pro1, security patchlevel October 1, with GApps and Magisk kept intact. The hiccup was that the phone, after restarting and then displaying the LineageOS animation for 20 minutes or so, booted into some kind of recovery, showing this screen (but after hitting 'try again', the system came up without problems in normal time, i.e. a few seconds) : Now of course I wonder whether this was caused by something in the update or maybe my phone is developing a problem...?

Google and Lineage are going the wrong way, making things too "secure" and "fool proof". Root and SD-cards are a good example of the things the future won't hold. I feel that power-users have to bend over backwards to use their devices the way they want. So that's what I did. I bent over backwards ... and gave birth to an old-timer 🤰👴 😁

It took a while, actually a long while. Seems like the first package got lost, but the second arrived in a week (+1 week customs). I was able to replace the camera and the backplate today in 1-2 hours. It was pain and not fun at all as I'm not used to so small connectors 😄. If you are careful it is possible though. I broke my power button a bit, which is not so clicky anymore and feels so wrong 😄 It was successful though, the camera works again. So it wasn't a software issue. The back is also as new now. And I could learn something new today.
