  1. adb sideload is used for flashing a new image (i.e. a firmware that has a higher build number compared to the current). The forum post you linked in your comment was for flashing the GMS-less build, which has a higher version number (2.1.5) than the stock OS (2.1.2). This process only requires you to flash the OTA package which adb sideload in recovery mode is better suited for. Although QFIL is the safest way to flash a full image (as it's a tool specifically designed for Qualcomm devices), it is faster and less tedious to use adb sideload for upgrading firmware and using fastboot scrip

  4. I also ordered from the FXTec website on 19 februari 2020, after waiting 2,5 years I decided to order one from expansys (with the intention to cancel my order and ask for a refund). Today it arrived and it does work perfectly as I am responding to you using my Pro1x. I'm not canceling my order (yet) because I would like to have another one just in case, like I did back in the days with my Nokia E-7 (still having all 4 of them, 2 in parts and 2 not charging).

  5. Exactly. Informed that my phone was scheduled to go offline on 1 Jan with Verizon (even though I like it just fine), I did a lot of research to find out why my 4GLTE phone would not work, even for data or hot spot. So I finally had to conclude it will probably die and become a brick on 1 Jan. Then I looked for modern physical keyboard phones. Then I researched which networks they work on. The carriers still claim to not support them. So further research, I decided the 5 row Qwerty keyboard of the PRO1 is the best option for my needs. With the tech features, there is no tech reason it could not

  6. I have not read all your comments because I honestly think you are a laughable joke. I noticed that you are having difficulty with your typing accuracy. Perhaps if you had a proper keyboard with a dedicated SHIFT key you might have better luck I am having a bit of amusement at a phone named after a personal lubricant, but hey you do you. Why don't you go ahead and pre-order your slidey phone. Have you read the reviews? https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/astro-slide-5g "While the hinge is impressive, the slide-out function isn’t very solid. A slight movement when swiping will have

  7. At the least it means that my nasty and rather paranoid theories can be put to rest.... The only bad thing here seems to be that the contract FxTec made with Expansys did not have a clause saying that Expansys could not put theirs up for sale, before they had packed and shipped those intended for Pre-orders and Backers. That Expansys might have lost faith in the product and is selling them cheaper than even the Super Early Bird devices, obviously just add to the frustration. And there clearly is a risk of some regretting orders, and thus draining capital from FxTec. Let us hope the Expan

  8. Thank you, Hook! That's the confirmation I needed to pull the trigger, myself. FX-Tec has until I have my half-price phone in my hands before I cancel my pre-order. After all this time things might work out well for me after all! A year and a half wait for half off... I've done worse for less!
