  1. Will be listing mine for sale shortly. Just a bit too busy for photos/description but thought I'd put that out there in case anyone is in a hurry.

    Edit:

Nets me 500USD after fees, I'd be more than happy to get that directly instead. To note it's a bit scuffed up on the metal case, and I messed up the new screen installation (still plastic under the selfie camera lmaooo) but otherwise I think everything's fine. Camera app issues under LOS20 but still prefer that OS to others.

Gonna miss it, but this camera on the Pixel 7 just tickles me to bits. My first time ditching a physical keyboard ever. The blackberry era lives on in my heart. Keep finding myself wanting to kick open the keyboard on my slab phone to better watch videos.

I believe you have to flash Magisk as a zip in recovery the first time and then set it up in Magisk Manager in order for root to survive OTAs. If that's what you did, then I don't know.

Turns out I just needed to install the OTA but before rebooting, click 'install to slot' in Magisk Manager. That way it manages to dodge the reset and reinsert itself during the reboot. Neat. I'm old.

This is, of course, on the Pro1x, not the Pro1 (I have Droidian on my Pro1 right now), but camera seems fine using open camera.

Ah! Still not used to having to differentiate between the two. Finally removed Open Camera as it was buggy after the June 5 OTA while GCam seemed to be fine. Crossing my fingers the issue is resolved but it wasn't uncommon for it to function occassionally.

I'm on LOS 20 now and don't remember clearly the settings on stock... LOS has a control panel for notification lights under settings and they seem to work, though I just leave it on auto.  And stock should have some setting under Settings->System-> Language and Input for keeping the soft keyboard off when using the physical keyboard, but  maybe I'm misremembering and spoiled by LOS.

Since you're on LOS20 too, how's your camera functionality? It's been super buggy for me no matter the app. That and not always charging.

'Manual Camera DSLR Pro' here (the name might be offputting for more casual shooters, but I think the app itself is quite straightforward and has all the usual automatic modes which are also enabled by default). I just have to make sure 'RAW' is disabled, otherwise it just stalls when trying to snap a shot.  For when I really want RAW files, I have the 'ProShot' app installed, but rarely ever use it.

(I'm still on stock Android, though, so LOS usage may be slightly different at some point.)

Didn't work either. On Stock I used Gcam ports that mostly all worked except for maybe inverted viewfinder in nightvision and little things like that. And in AICP I had things working well too. But now LOS20 I am resorting to taking screenshots of the viewfinder lol.

Two actually, and I also have a couple of replacement screens in my stash. Also got a couple of custom made leather smart cases too. Not sure when or if I'll be willing to part with them. As a developer being able use them for testing apps is convenient. Testing Lineage OS is also a plus. Though to be fair it looks like they are both bound to spend a lot of time in a drawer.

If you ever find the leather cases don't get used much, they sound lovely to this leather fanatic 😄

I have this problem sometimes but I think it's caused by ACC. It appears like there's some bugs in the custom android kernel which doesn't like when some of the settings inside /sys are used. I'm still probing because this only happens to me many hours after I start charging.

However, if you have root permissions, this script works well for me:

    echo 1 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/input_current_limited
    echo 0 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/input_suspend
    echo 2 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/charge_control_limit

I appear to only need it if I have the phone connected to the PC for charging (how I usually charge). I haven't had issues when connected to the wall charger.

@Adrienspawn If you have rooted (or can adb root) see if that script solves. Otherwise, the issue is something different than me. Ofc, this is still sth that needs to be fixed in the kernel.

Looks like I keep losing Magisk/root every time I update Lineage using their automated updater, but once I figure out how to do it smoothly I'll try it thanks.

I did a credit card claim - even though it had been 2 years. I was fully refunded including shipping.
You're not going to get a refund from fxtec so you need to be more creative to get your money back.

Also I am in the US

That's so bad. Being based out of London gave it a lot more credibility than out of China.

  9. Yeah the stock battery for around 200 CAD shipped is a big ask when a new LCD is 40. I didn't mind paying a premium 900 for the phone originally but now it is really dated with the CPU/RAM to the point where an investment of that magnitude would be better put towards a whole new phone.

I try not to open it up too much in order to keep everything working smoothly, but I'll certainly be placing an order once I track down the ideal battery replacement around 20$.

Looking forward to seeing if Schattengestalt here has any success with the connection and sizing since he jumped on it. I tend to take a long time when researching products and prices and still have some looking around to do.

Sadly, 'a bit longer' is really bad. You can't just cut off a part of the battery. We'd need a battery smaller than 36mm*110mm (I don't know the height) to work.

How did you search for the dimensions though? Maybe we can help you.

Was hoping their official online storefront would offer an identical match, but too hopeful.

I was also wondering if it is more like their smaller 1600mah battery but stacked twice one above the other to make 3200mah.

The size of those Apple ones would be OK, but too weak in voltage/capacity to be considered IMO.

Something like this at 3.85V at 3400mah (13/09Wh) for perhaps the Lenovo Zuk Z2?

    https://www.batteriesnbulbs.com/BnB-Sino-6505-CS-LVZ210SL-3.85V-3400mAh-13.09Wh-Li-Polymer-Mobile-SmartPhone-Battery-for-Lenovo.html

A lot of websites have really great selections and list the dimensions (or at least the phone they go with, at which point the dimensions are Googlable).

The connection I'm not sure about but I'm loving that it takes up most of the length (104.3) and would have to be squeezed in snug for the width (38.75).

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003012788592.html Similar knockoff for the Z2 at 3.82V though.

Interesting! Pro1X and Pro1 have same battery model 5036108PLN but different manufacturer.

Pro1: Dongguan Guoxia Electronic Technology Co. Ltd

Pro1X: Shenzhen Kehuaxin Electronic Co Ltd

Picture of my Pro1 when I opened it:

From Shenzhen one on Alibaba closest match is:

H5.8mm*W32mm*L127mm (perhaps slightly thinner but longer..)

  12. Well, their customer service is pretty bad yeah.

And they tend to over-promise and under-deliver.

I don't think you're being singled out to lose your money though.

The more likely worst case scenario is they have very limited stock on hand for replacements, and limited manpower for repairs as well.

Keep on pushing, feel free to open a case with PayPal or your credit card company to have some peace of mind, as you would with any business.

  13. Just to write that I went from AICP-R 16.1 to Lineage 20.

Some apps recognize the newer Android build and offer better interface/functions. Getting better battery life (surprising to me) and just more modern/streamlined feel throughout.

However experiencing some minor slowdowns/freezes for a second or two where my touch inputs aren't registering.

Also need to dial down the best camera app still.

  14. Just ran into the same issue on my 2nd display swap. First one had no issues immediately but then pink vertical line appeared outside the return/refund window.

This one I need to get it to register touches on the side it seems. I take it there's still no easy fix and I'll need to backup, flash stock and only then AICP?

  15. Looks to be a (the?) standard rectangle that snaps into place with 4 terminals for positive, negative, temperature and capacity.

Seeing it in some iPhone repair videos and then most batteries (ie for Pixel) have what looks to be the part that snaps into it.
