  1. And don't say sliders are out of fashion. They are ahead of time. People just don't know yet 😉

  2. Same to me, just received it few weeks ago. Also had this battery drain issue solved with the entry: With the support of some members like @EskeRahn and @Hook I was able to establish a new ROM (they are delivered with stock android no matter what you ordered) without utilizing Google and made the installation using an old Windows 7 (offline): It was quite some effort getting though all of that and the phone is already showing signs of defect (USB plug loose). But anyway. I did wait for this phone so long and I love the slider idea. If there would be a Pro 2X I would

  3. Hi all, I am late to the party. I didn’t expect to receive this device and it showed up at my door late last week. I am really struggling to install Sailfish on the qx1050. I followed the instructions in the first post of this thread and I can’t get past the “Powered by Android” boot screen. I tried both the March 2023 (Sailfish 4.5) and October 2022 (Sailfish 4.4) releases. I booted to the bootloader, ran the flash.sh script. Each time it states the script has completed successfully but no joy. Can anyone advise me as to what to do? UPDATE: I figured out what I did wrong. When I fi

  4. So far I have only had it working for about a day. I haven't done much with Sailfish other than some tinkering around in the terminal. It runs smoothly and once you perform some of the tweaks (mentioned in the first post) it feels like it was very much designed for a device like the Pro1-X. I haven't attempted to run waydroid yet but when I do I'll update how successful (or not) that attempt is. The Pro1-X is not going to be my daily driver. I intend to use it as a small personal laptop (browsing, email, media consumption etc.) rather than a phone.

  6. Swollen battery is classic liion problem and it can happens on any phone brand. It is really bad on bnib phone and as say #Hook - you must contact fx directly because forum is only for users and is not official support. BUT what can i see from this one picture - it is not too bad as it looks because mainboard is on another side soo will be for 95% intact. I see swollen battery and two tear off nuts...soo relatively simple repair. First will be good to pull out battery quickly. ***led me known if fx dont responds - i can help you

  7. I put a flip case on mine, and that practically eliminates the issue, as you are then unlikely to accidentally trigger it. We have a terrible long thread on (mainly DIY) cases, but long-story-short, it requires either a 3D-printed case or some tinkering with existing cases. I have my own blah blah on the cases I made, and have been using for five years here.

  8. Let me repeat my reply to about the same post on IGG yesterday: Uh that was a bad experience!! On the broken seal they did a long while back say that they opened boxes to check battery, why they were not re-sealed I have no idea, others have reported the same. And the bloated battery is most likely the cause of your broken device. I guess no one opened and re-checked devices before this wave was rolled out, Contact them at info@fxtec.com I’m not sure they read comments in here.

  9. You might find this post interesting as it is the only close up I can recall of the main antenna board, which has the USB-C port attached.

  11. Ummm... well, can't blame you for the rant, but this is a user-to-user forum that FXTec folks only rarely poke in to so you are not communicating to your intended audience. I would contact them by email and let them know what happened.

  13. after spending some time, I managed to build postmarketos with Danct12 kernel. I was even able to get wifi working. however many things doesn't work - like keyboard, bt and so on. there's a driver for gpio extender in mainline I stole dts scheme for keyboard from pro1 mainline branch - the keyboard still doesn't work unfortunately. anyway, I can share my files so you can play with it 🙂

  14. Hello there, recently got my new Pro 1X, but trying to load it I sensed the USB plug to be loose. While moving it slightly it was rattling inside the phone. I am not sure. As the USB module is separate, does this refer to a not so perfect clamped/glued module or might the screw or even the connection on the conductor board be broken ? I once experienced something similar on a graphics card, where the plug was loose as its screw was broken from the board. After some time of rattling the soldering of the plug broke and it was doomed. Does anybody have an idea on that ? Or ma

  15. After 3.5 years of waiting, I get a used device – packaging was unsealed. Worst of all, an obviously broken device with a bloated battery; case preyed open and PCB bent gets shipped. I don’t know what to say!!! Are you for real, how on earth do you dare to ship a broken device to a customer. Is that some kind of a joke – what kind of Q&A do you have in place,if any??? Have a look for yourselves: https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZmVfgZHaVMdk2iTuJfecaEcNC6VmXcoiy0 Thanks for the great service!!!

  16. Just another "me too" here. I've received my pro1x a few days ago, i haven't tried cellular (and don't plan to), only using it on Wi-Fi, but it is really awful. Sitting 2 meters away from the access point in the same room, direct line of sight, it fails to maintain a Wi-Fi connection; it frequently disconnects. Speeds are less than 10 mbit at that distance, when it can connect at all. Even a simple ssh session to another computer on my local network lags, stalls, and disconnects to the point of being unusable. 😭 (I have never disassembled it and there's nothing rattling.)
