Ok. have sent them an email inquiring about the date of shipment and tracking no. Let's see what they reply. Did you get any shipment update?
-
I am from Asia and I have ordered and paid very early, but I have not received any tracking # till now. So I don't believe your small 1st batch was ever despatched! So I presume my order will be in the so called "2nd batch" which will be shipped by end of Nov. In other words you have cleverly delayed the shipment by another 1 month! And yes, then there will be custom delays etc., which will be totally "beyond your control". I really wonder when we will finally get our phones? Hopefully before Christmas!? Or am I expecting too much? You guys at F(x)tec need to pull up your socks!!

That's an interesting point, but how can you be sure they are not the same? Edit: Ok got it. The would simply mention their age at the time of collection.
-
Don't try to read the chart, it's not relevant. It's only to show example for age distribution used to collect data for mobile users.
-
The closed age intervals are 7,6,5,5. But not sure how these survey people come up with the age brackets. Had taken a sample distribution from Nielsen.

After about 67 votes so far, the oldies (40+) have a narrow lead over 25-30 group. 🙂 It's quite surprising to see so many votes in 18-24 age bracket and so few in 36-40... These trends can ofcourse change with more votes and a bigger sample size. But it may be promising for F(x)Tec to eventually have a large customer base.

It's not possible for us (except FxTec staff) to know if anyone has bought this phone or not, and as a forum member, anyone can participate. But most of us are here because we may like the technology or would like to own one or already placed the order. This is what is important and the poll should throw some light on the age segments.
-
Unfortunately 40+ may mean that you are old! I am 50 🙂 Interesting trend at the moment with younger 18-24 group at the top alongwith 25-30 group.

It will be interesting to know the age groups of users of this Keyboard Phone. Generally older people maybe more interested as they can relate to this technology, as they may have either used it before or seen others use them. I do not expect many from the younger generation to buy this. But I would love to be proved wrong!

Sorry, nothing to update! I don't think any shipments were made to any Asian customers. So the date 29th was only a gimmick. At the moment there are no firm dates for shipment to customers. They are only talking about shipment to fulfillment centres.. Earlier update stated that Hong Kong is base for Asian customers for shipping to them on 29th. Now nothing is mentioned about this! So it doesn't look like anyone will get delivery before end of next week. The video also is very vague and only making excuses in advance for more delay. Does it really take 4-5 hours to assemble a phone? JerryRigEve

They have also tested the Pro1 with 100k slide cycles, both by robots and a human testers. There were issues with early prototypes, but since then they have updated the flex cable and it seems the device can comfortably go above 100k slide cycles.

Here are some cases from AliExpress that may work out: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32923170906.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.684f3c00X3s17r&mp=1 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32846302273.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.efc03c00K5FxKJ&mp=1 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33006656347.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.efc03c00K5FxKJ&mp=1 I have not bought them, so I am only guessing that it will be ok for Pro1

Don't get surprised, as they still have the option to use the term "late" October as "mid" September and "early" October are already used up. :)
-
This maybe only for fresh orders? Otherwise they would have emailed the pre-order customers informing about this imminent 2nd delay? We also have the right to know directly from them instead of guessing the shipping dates from their shopping page etc.
-
This maybe during the initial warranty period, till they sort out the service logistics, and not necessarily during the full warranty period of 2 years? Right?

Please see my correspondence with them regarding spares/ repairs. Me: Is it possible to ship only flex screen cables/ Keyboard/ battery to India (as per requirement), in case I can have it changed locally? F(x)Tec: We do not currently know how the repairs process will work. To my knowledge, only our service locations will be able to fix the devices. Me: Sending mobile to the only service locations in UK and US may not be feasible for many. Especially after the warranty (2 years). But local repair shops here can do a good job, but they will of course need the main spare parts which may be

Last week I have received the following reply from Team F(x)Tech for a similar query: " We’ve tested the Pro1 with 100k slide cycles, both by robots and a human testers. While there were issues with early prototypes, we have since then updated the flex cable and the device can comfortable go above 100k slide cycles." Considering a conservative average use of keyboard, say once every 15 mins and 12 hours usage per day, it works out 48 slides cycles per day. So it should be fine for about 5-6 years. It's not necessary that every time we pick up the phone we will use the keyboard and some

As per the following website Hub+ suite does not seem to include "Locker". It may only include Password Keeper, Hub, Calendar, Launcher, Device Search, Tasks and Contacts. Will see how it goes.
-
Yes, I can subscribe/ pay for the Blackberry Hub+, but I don't think it includes the "Locker"

This is cool. Developer is Blackberry Limited, Ontario, Canada. So very reliable! From Play Store: "If you don't have a BlackBerry device: You can use this app on your Android device absolutely free for 30 days. After that, you can continue using the app for free, with some ads. To remove ads and unlock access to more apps, subscribe to BlackBerry Hub+ from the app." Any suggestions for a good "Locker" app"?

Hi, I am currently using Blackberry Keyone, (It was the only available option to jump from my sinking Samsung Relay(s). Not very fond of Keyone keyboard, as it's too small for by big hands! Anyway, what I really like is the security available on this BB device with couple of inbuilt apps like "Password Keeper" to store usernames and passwords of various websites and "Locker" to store confidential data/ pics etc. Will any such similar options/ apps be made available for Pro1? I don't trust 3rd party apps.. I have already paid for my Pro1 and eagerly looking forward to it's shipment by m
