Woohoo! Even I managed to upgrade this time and I'm one of your dimmest members, spoilt by just running BB10 autoloaders and the occasional sideload through a GUI for all these years! Good riddance to the awful navigation buttons from previous Android and hello being able to go back on the left of the screen whether it is in portrait or landscape mode! I like Android a tiny bit more now!

From LOS 16 is this LOS 17 a non-destructive upgrade or destructive. I.E. Do I loose my data and settings?

I'd be happy to help but I am a bit scared to the sideload process once more as I broke my phone on the last attempt and don't reallyry know how I fixed it in the end!

Any chance of the upgraded keyboard files being in the version 17 LOS files? I had a really busy few days at work recently which would have been a pleasure on my Passport but were quite trying when typing fast on the Pro1 with LOS: random extra characters, deleting the odd few words and moving the cursor of its own accord now and again!

Is there any way to use Swift Key without theose awful cons taking up so much screen space, especially in landscape. I was always told how wonderfully customisable Android was but it seems to be more a choice of one hundred shit solutions, none of them great or particularly working well with each other. The Pro1 runs some apps I need and like to have, but it pales in comparison to my Blackberry Passport. Maybe when the LOS typing issue is resolved I can actually enjoy using it but for now typing is pretty awful sometimes.

When I tried to load v2 of that file, the phone broke for some reason. It did ccome back to life though but I'm not quite sure what I did. If I wait, will this come through the usual Lineage OS updates?

If we are adding keyboard woes, mine seems to randomly insert the odd number or character in, scroll down a few lines of text and put caps lock on. It is nicer to type on than glass but these errors make it really unenjoyable sometimes.

Hi everyone, I would like to back up the phone to my computer, as I now have it, kind of, set up like I would like it to run. I currently have LOS and installed the Google apps: I've found the Backup page in settings and it backs up to Google Drive. If I needed to wipe the phone in the future, when I restore it will it just look exactly like it does now? E.g. Apps, settings, the fine details of Nova Launcher, etc? If I decide to try LOS WITHOUT GOOGLE or SAILFISH, I presume that the above backup will no longer be of use! How do I backup the phone in another w

Thank you! I actually don't know how this fixed because I only did a few bits of what you suggested and then I rebooted and it works again! OMFG Android is a touchy nightmare. I know lots of you have put a lot of work in to Lineage but seriously.......! Anyway, Eske, thank you for being so speedy!

In red it says: "Can't load Android system. Your data may continue to get this message, you may ne factory data reset and erase all user da device" [the above makes no sense as I assume the message is too wide ot fit on the screen] I have the option to "Try again" or "Factory data reset" Is there a way back from this mess I have made?

My keyboard is pretty unreliable and I don't really know anything about how to load the above. I could learn, like I did to load Lineage OS in the furst place. If I wait, will this fix eventually find its way the weekly updates?

I am finding Android to be pretty horrible to use. I would switch to Sailfish to try it but in order to not to have to dual-carry another phone for work I have to have WhatsApp for my work SIM. I know Android apps aren't officially supported but is there some sort of unofficial way of getting the Android app ability to work?

Is there any way to get the row of icons that has the navigation "pill" and "back" buttom to move to the bottom of the screen when the phone is in landscape? It seems a bit weird for "back" to swap from being pressed with the left hand in portrait to the right hand in landscape and for the gestures on the "pill" to be 90 degrees out when you switch between landscape and portrait.

Thank you Adam. Good luck with it. I hope it reaches the official state eventually where it can sideload APKs so I can run a few apps on the side like I did on on BB10 Passport. Is this a goal?

Thanks for the update. I'm perservering with Android for now and will keep an eye on Sailfish's development here.
