Well you should be able to dd or smthing the system image... i wanted to do something like that but i gave up. TDM is working on a backup solution...can't wait TWRP can't decode the data partition so it is pointless. TBH don't be afraid if you #### up you boot partitions... flash a new image over and it is fixed. Btw if you have used magisk to root your phone... magisk creates a boot image backup that you can use to restore it using "fastboot flash boot_a boot.img" or flash the whole image over it 😉 and don't forget you have a an b partitions 😉 to switch use fastboot --set-active

Well imo this is the best version up to date... the last LOS 16 version was imo the best one but it lacked the speed and certain android 10-11 features LOS 17.1 official is kinda not really beeing worked on much... LOS 18.1 this is the way. Can't really se why you would stay on LOS17.1 as 18.1 has everything + more and bugfixes are faster here. fastboot erase cache that would work i think. don't think that volte and wifi work on stock... well they didn't when I was using it like 1-2 months ago. type *#*#4636#*#* in the dailer and check ims status.

try updated ones NikGapps-omni-arm64-11-20210104.zip Gapps had some issues with android 11, just flash them over the existing ones and clear cache after installed. have not tried onmni as am using full ones tho..

Ok... magisk affects only the bootloader. So if you flash a new bootloader or firmware (in the firware the bootloader is included) you get magisk/root free phone. All you date is stored on the data partition. So basically if you flash a newer firmware on you phone you loose magisk and keep the data (well if the firmware has upgrade paths).

dirty flashing a new version should work imo

I have been trying to dump whole phone partitions to an image that i could restore using fastboot but have not yet found a good one yet 😉 So this would be awesome 😉

volte is fixed in lineage 17 and 18.1. vowifi is not working tho... kinda funny as they usually work in pairs. It has been suggested that it is an blob issue and LOS is also a bit strict on blobs, they use only those that come with phones and not other ones that work... Not many devs have the pro1 so could be a while. I think they managed to get vowifi working on oneplus 5 which is also a msm8998 device. btw i too dislike the fact that some great features are in LOS gerrit but are not commited... more settings the better that is why AICP is great. concerning the switch to android r..

Made a new build. Upgrade from LOS 18.1-20201210 works, nikgapps work, magisk 21.1 works. lineage-18.1-20201221-UNOFFICIAL-pro1.zip volte works, vowifi sadly not...

well not sure where i read that but the microphone has some interference issues with GSM. Should work better with 3g and Volte. The thing i notice is that when there is noisy environment the other one can't hear you, sometimes people say to me that they can hear the people in the background more than me. Maybe to much mic gain, back mic not working, noise cancellation issue... Am currently playing around a bit with mixer paths and persist.audio setting in build.prop. It is a bit of a long shot as it is more of an trial end error thing 😉 will see 😉

btw how does the mic behave in noisy environments on this build? Can the one on the other side hear you clearly?

lineage-18.1-20201210-UNOFFICIAL-pro1.zip New build works, volte working. The only issue is that the exists is with gapps (threre are no good ones yet), so if you don't use them the build is great. Upgrade from 18 worked. Open_gapps-arm64-11.0-micro-20201116-TEST which are the latest ones prevent you from booting, missing some permissions. Recovery also fixed, you can select updates from sdcard again.

Merging device specific changes that were done on LOS 16 to newer version of LOS. And there are also other msm8998 devices that make the same changes. So if someone on another device that uses the same platform makes a change... you can merge that change also in you build. If you don't have a device you can't test it 😉 but if it builds.. it builds. You can see that here. Search for a device, click some changes, follow them to the original author.

directly from bgcngm, was testing firmwares for him when he was fixing ims, he will probably post some new version on xda soon. He did the ims fixes on LOS 18 and after that they were added to 17.1. Not sure if they are in the official builds yet tho. Imo fxtec should give the guy a device most of LOS commits for pro1 are his.

Well there is an older unofficial one in the thread, lineage-18.0-20201121-UNOFFICIAL-pro1.zip is the latest test one that i have and has volte working, but has gaps included. lineage-18.0-20201120-UNOFFICIAL-pro1.zip is a bit older but also has volte working and no gaps If you are flashing this you also need a UNOFFICIAL boot image that you flash prior as you can't flash from the OFFICIAL build. I have been using LOS 18 for 14 days and i am quite happy with it. Volte works on the latest builds and the phone works fast, would say like LOS 17. Like the new android features. Didn't find any bugs besides not working vowifi yet. Magisk v21, Gapps, xposed, banking apps... everything works. Not sure about my sound quality during call (me not them) but was shitty before.
