You absolutely can do a chargeback, but there's a risk that not only will you lose the dispute, but you could end up getting banned by both the service and even the credit card lender. For example, I mistakenly sent some money to someone through zelle. I called up my bank and asked them if it would be possible to revert the transaction because I had done it by mistake. Now apparently, you cannot reverse a zelle transaction unless there was fraud and I explicitly asked her if could in this instance despite no fraud occuring. Bless her soul, the representative had no idea about these rules and h

True, I'm speaking based on personal experience as an American. No idea how chargebacks work in other parts of the world. Here you just open up a dispute with your credit card company, they do an investigation and communicate with the company and payment processor and then within around 60 days they make a ruling. You won't be charged for the investigation, but you could potentially get banned from the service (Playstation bans anyone who tries to do a chargeback, even in cases of fraud). However, a company can't choose to allow or disallow chargebacks. Any credit card lender has the abil

I read that the 662 has about 80% of the performance of the 835. Since I was just going to use it to edit files and run a browser and a pdf reader inside a linux proot, I'm not sure it's really an issue for me. I think it's more of an issue for someone who was planning on running graphically intensive software. Honestly, I'd rather get the pro1x sooner, so that I can have a backup and they can get started on the pro2 campaign.

I will take any fxtec pro1 phone I can get, since they are the only keyboard phone that provides what I need. Full keyboard layout with all symbols and modifiers. That being said if you did want a refund, you can just file for a chargeback. Now IGG says that you're crowdfunding and it's not like regular shopping, etc, etc. but all of that's IRRELEVANT because your credit lender has ALL THE POWER. If you can convince your credit card provider to give you a refund, they'll give you your money back regardless of what IGG's policies are. In fact if you look at IGG's support pages, it exp

Full Wireless Charging. Will it work?

Tested out Nilkin and MyMax Qi Receivers. Both work well, albeit slow charging. MyMax: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XD75XY3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -

How did you remove the housing of the usb-c plug? I'm not sure how to pry it open without breaking the plug. -
Full Wireless Charging. Will it work?

I'm having the same issues even with the 18 watt charging adapter I just got. I'm not sure how @BartWuchs got his to charge. I bought the 1A qi receiver he mentioned, but I can't find the 15w charging pad he mentioned, only found a 10w version in us amazon. Would it make sense the 2A qi receiver doesn't work, but the 1A receiver somehow works? -

Does it actually say battery charging on the screen? Or does only the notification led light up. Mine also charges with the above setup, but it doesn't say charging on the screen. It goes up like 1% after an hour. -

I used this anker charging pad: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07THHQMHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GWQ2GJC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm going to buy this other adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077HFFLMS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 as it appears to deliver more power and is recommended for use with the charging pad. I'll let you know if it works -

Bought it and tested it out with anker wireless charging pad. Charging led lights up, but no actual charging. 😞 -
I read Fxtec was accepting suggestions for new keyboard layouts. Has anyone suggested a blank keyboard layout? That way you can remap keys however you want without having to worry about letters matching up And you don't have to worry about letters fading over time

You're right, they definitely had an idea that there might be possible delays, but they waited to collect accurate information before releasing that info publicly. And in that time, some people bought perks on igg or their site expecting to get the earlier model. They didn't release that information right because they wanted to be 100% sure of the facts, before releasing that info. I don't believe it was to squeeze a few more bucks out of people. They could've posted a disclaimer on their site, saying that there may be massive delays, or there would be some potential changes to the

The line is when they take the money to Las Vegas and blow it on hookers and cocaine. And then they realize they need more money, so they delay shipping in order to solicit more funds, so they can provide refunds to people who threaten to sue. Thus, the organization becomes a ponzi scheme where new investor money is used to pay off old investors. But I don't think that's the case here, hopefully... >.<
-
If you bought through their website, ask for a refund, due to the change in shipping date. And if they refuse, file a chargeback. That's your right under consumer protection laws. As for whether they're crooks, that's impossible to determine unless you have evidence that they intentionally tried to mislead people. Otherwise, it's possible they were slow to update their site, problems with internal communication, logistical issues, etc. There's any number of reasons... Being disorganized or unprepared (while not ideal) isn't the same as being actively malicious.

They won't continue to support both the old pro1 (835) and the new one 662. It's not feasible for a company of this size to support two phones. But maybe they'll put out android 10, idk. There won't be any refunds. They don't have to give out refunds, it's an igg campaign. People who ordered through their site can ask for a refund, though. They don't need to worry about their reputation. They're not Samsung, they're nobodies. This is a niche device, there's no alternative, so it's this or nothing. (bb locked down, astro slide bad keyboard design) They won't go bankrupt, the

I have a dremel tool, but my hand's not very steady and the incisions I'm trying to make are very small, so the cuts end up being a little off or messy. That's why I was hoping to find a solution with more precision. I ended up using an xacto knife cause it allows for more precision since a dremel tool is rather bulky, but it's still not as precise as I'd like. Actually you know what. Maybe my mistake is trying to hold the dremel tool and move it around. Instead i should get some kind of mounted dremel tool, and then move the silicone around. Cause the dremel is awkwardly heav

I tried using a flexible huawei p20 case. It fits the pro1 well but trying to cut holes for the ports with an xacto knife was very messy. So I ended up using @Hook's method of using a dbrand skin (Black Dragon). However, I would still like to find a way to use thee huawei case. I'd like to 3d print a stencil with sharp edges that I can press into the silicone to cut through it precisely. I'm wondering if I could get sharp enough edges using a 3d resin printer to cut through silicone. And how would I go about designing such a feature on a stencil? One idea I had was to print some

I'm confused about how the change in SoC will affect people who chose to get pre-loaded LineageOS or Ubuntu. Since there's no lineageos support currently for 662 since all the work was done for 835, does that mean that everyone will get stock android 11 in August when the phone ships? Or will Fxtec have official support for lineageos prior to shipping the phones and I'll be able to flash the phone from android to lineageos as soon as I get it in August?
-
They should continue to do pro1x campaign, so they can make enough money to keep their operation running. But they should also start the campaign for pro2 with a vastly better SOC. That way the campaigns can run concurrently; I'll happily buy both devices. That way the pro1x will come this year and the pro2 will come early next year. I'm sure they took their time and considered all their options before deciding on the 662. They took their time putting out this update and they're fully aware of the ramifications of their decision. They didn't put it up to a community vote, cause the never

I hope the performance drop isn't too extensive. Although I was never going to use pro1 to play games or watch movies; as long as I can run a linux proot I'm happy. The important thing is preserving the keyboard design, which appears to be kept the same. Although I have to wonder if at this point since they have to redevelop from scratch, it wouldn't be simpler to scrap the pro1x entirely and develop the pro2 with a better chipset and migrate everyone's orders to the pro2. The delivery may be delayed to 2022 as a result, but there will be delays regardless with the covid situation. And I feel

The Astro Slide! (sliding keyboard phone competition from planetcom)

I still use emacs, but I switched to vim keybindings inside emacs because modal editing is just a lot easier than using chord keybindings. But even in vim every single key can be used in a binding, even symbol keys like ,.;'/. So having first layer access to those keys makes things a lot easier. Whereas in astro slide keyboard, I would have to hold down a fn key just to access ;/-=, etc. Even if I remapped all of astro slide's keys, there wouldn't be enough keys available; only two keys between M key and right shift, no keys available between p and enter. So the pro1 keyboard is a lo -
Actually, light touches work, too. What's happening is that sometimes the reader doesn't register my fingerprint, so I instinctively feel I need to squeeze down harder on the reader to firmly press my fingerprint against it. If I lightly tap it, sometimes the fingerprint is read, sometimes it isn't. I think the issue is the placement of my finger, or maybe the reader is just a bit slower to unlock compared to the samsung phone, so I'm not used to it. Sometimes there's a slight delay between reading the print and hearing the sound of the phone unlocking.

I originally got the compact bluetooth trackpoint keyboard from lenovo, but it was awful. The chiclet keys were terrible, and the layout was so cramped I could barely type properly. I would love a 55Y903 with bluetooth; I don't know why lenovo doesn't release one like that. Btw does that keyboard you have use chiclet keys or rubber dome? Does it have any tactile response when you press a key? The tex shinobi feels great, but it's pretty heavy; I'd like something a little lighter, so it's easier to carry in my bag. I had blue mx switches for typing, but switched to silent red since it's a
