@EskeRahn okay, good news - easy fix - slipup on my part when rebasing on the newest common kernel - https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_kernel_fxtec_msm8998/+/355481 - pulled the broken

You ever been in an updating mood and think about to hit the "update all" button in the Google Play Store while the OTA update is running? Yeah, don't do that. Sometimes the Play Store updat

Lineage-20.0-20231009-nightly-pro1-signed.zip KILLED USER PARTITON, FORMAT NEEDED, From there it installed smoothly using adb sideload and MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-20230808_213316, ends on on Sep 5 security patch.

For  clarification, was that because your user partition had a problem or because this Lineage update needed it?  Coincidentally, I just returned my Pro 1 to Lineage this afternoon, but I was coming from Droidian, so user partition was already freshly formatted.

It was working fine, until seconds before I did the update. It seems to have crashed the user partition either during the flash of the boot.img, or the following attempted boot into recovery mode (That failed requesting a reformat).

(I did retry several times, and also aborted and booted to fastboot-mode and retried the flashing - after doing a new download just to be sure, but the partition was smashed)

Hi, I just started to setup for install of LOS 20

with these instructions: "https://wiki.oddsolutions.us/devices/pro1/install"

When I enter "fastboot oem enable-charger-screen"

I get "FAILED (remote: unknown command)".

Phone is on stock at the moment.

Just so you know, Odd Solutions is not official Lineage, though I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I'm not sure, but I seem to think I recall that n.p. Johnson may be involved with it.  However, since most here use the official Lineage, you probably need to pose your questions to them.  Here is their explanations of the difference.

The instructions do seem to be cloned from the official site.

Here is official Lineage for the Pro1 (first link is downloads, the second link is for instructions:

I guess My question is about fastboot. as I'm not close to flashing yet, seems to me the instructions Linked, are the same for everyone, just not sure why I get the error. "Fastboot devices" sees the phone, debugging is on, it's in Boot loader mode...

thanks.

Working with Fastboot tends to be extremely picky on the connection. I have had good experiences with inserting a hub between the computer and the phone. Or to select a USB 2.0 port
Fastboot can work with USB 3.0 but is really picky. When I go through my thunderbolt connected docking, and use a USB 3.0 port on that it works smoothly, but not directly connected to the laptop....

...On windows it can also be quite picky on the driver...

Last update 20231016 seems to have thrown the Developer options setting away, but can be reenabled, so adb connection works..

lineage-20.0-20231021-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on Oct 6 security patch installed smoothly (*) using adb sideload and MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-20230808_213316

This update preserved the Developer options setting, as usual.

Note the date, Not the usual Monday - not that it matters.

Just noting that losing Developer options also happened on my Pro1 with the earlier update, but it has not happened with any of the updates on the Pro1x.  Wonder what specifically got changed with the Pro1 to create that result?

Lineage-20.0-20231028-nightly-pro1 with Oct 6th security patch installed smoothly via OTA. MindTheGapps13.  This is now a backup phone, so I'm not rooted on the Pro1 like I am on the Pro1x.

The official release date for the Pro1 seems to have changed from Monday to Saturday.  The Pro1x updates are now being released on Monday.
