  1. So, just one last update on that slightly off-topic discussion from few weeks ago: Following @Sean McCreary's suggestions, I was indeed able to build an up-to-date (unofficial) LOS 16.0. It is really not that difficult - my very first build went through smoothly and relatively quickly (~ 12 h overall), even though the ressources I had assigned to my virtual building machine were not even remotely close to the recommended values (i3-U, 3 cores, 6 GB RAM, 300 GB hdd). I'm now on Android patchlevel 05-05-2021, which does feel better, indeed. Thanks to @Sean McCreary's hint about ke

  2. Hello, I have dropped my Pro1, which caused ugly dent in bottom cover. Even though screen itself survived scratchless, it stopped working. So I got into disassembly expecting something visibly broken inside, but I could not find anything. The only damage were scratches caused by me trying to get inside the phone 😀. I knew the software was still working, because I could hear morning alarm and all kind of notification noises. Than I noticed the screen replacement on AliExpress had the connector on the side, so this was the final solution: I just disconnected and reconnec

  3. Actually, I would disagree. A small batch run is much more likely to have QC and build problems, especially if the company can't be there in person to supervise. In a normal batch run, they might throw out 10 devices early in the run for QC defects. What is actually more important is the they have a 2 year guarantee, that the company honors those warranties and that the warranty belongs to the device, not the original owner, so that when sold, the second owner is protected too.

  4. I've been using mine as my daily driver for 16 months now. Though having a backup phone is good advice no matter what you use as you primary device. I have other devices I can use when I'm home and I do tend to avoid using Pro1 when doing long video calls as audio quality issues can too often get in the way.

  5. Fair, I don't think that discredits what I said though. In fact it might make it more relevant I still fully believe that if you see a Pre-Christmas Pro 1 X for sale and are thinking about buying it as your sole daily driver, rather than a neat collector's item, then maybe don't If the small batch of 10 is likely to have other people who also got defects, not just me and Jax, and the person with the defective phone threw it on eBay instead of dealing with FXTec, you gotta then send in the phone you just bought for $800 or £600 I emailed FXTec in February, was told
