  1. Agreed. The old Forum bias-- people mostly post in forums when there is a problem, they don't post to say things are going great. Plus there are (probably many) Pro1 owners who never come to this forum. In addition, after two years, is it a defect or just wear and tear on a device with a lot of moving parts? That may get them complaints due to the longevity and quality of their builds and parts, but they have a case for saying it really is no longer a warranty issue. Same thing happens to my cars that start developing problems just after warranty end. 😉

  2. Not sure if this was obvious to everyone else, but I had no idea what VTS was and had to look it up.

  3. I uploaded my latest Lineage 16.0 build, dated 20220225. It includes the February 2022 fixes from the 2022-02-05 Android Security Bulletin. These fixes are now backported to Lineage 16.0 by the good people at lineageos.org, as AOSP does not officially support Pie anymore. I bumped the Android security string to reflect this. New local mods since the last release: Backported some CPU and GPU (surfaceflinger) optimizations that, while initially proposed against 16.0, were merged only in 17.1. My full local patchset with respect to the upstream lineage-16.0-branch can be downloa

  4. Basically it is not an official problem description, just my own findings... I don't know how it affects warranty (they have provided replacement screens within warranty period, so it was covered). Also, we don't know the amount of Pro1s which had defective screens compared to the number of units sold and also we don't know any impacts on the screen/phone were caused by user during everyday usage which may also be a cause of this problem.

  5. I think this issue is not as simple... I have high certainty the cause is the bottom ribbon cable comes from display to display's electronics may break in some circumstances... it can be a bad gluing problem which allows the screen moving or dropping the phone which causing the same problem or maybe releasing the glue by a solvent which practically may be also alcohol used for disinfecting the phone... ...but the root cause of the problem is that ribbon cable can break or loose its contact at display side which is a final result of movement in relation to the above. Actual displ

  6. Problems may happen but you may contact their customer support regarding a specific problem. However, it is easier if you live in another country than the package was delivered in but also a different city may help to prove your truth. Once a seller has provided a tracking number for me what belonged to another person locally in the same country and also same city, around 3 kilometres away from me... that was a bit harder to prove that was not me... Anyway, I have also ran into a mistake of "Aliexpress Combined Shipping" which basically puts together several "Aliexpress Standard Shipp

  7. In LineageOS 16.0 this works: long-pressing any accentable character on the hardware keyboard (e.g. 'a') brings up a selector box allowing you to pick any accented variant ('à', 'á', 'â', 'ä', ...) using the touchscreen. The box looks a bit rustic, like using a design from previous Android versions, but it works. Not sure about the later Lineage versions 17.1 and 18.1. Note that this is for the original Pro1 only. We still know nothing about software for the new Pro1-X. The LineageOS ports for the Pro1 will no longer work because of the different SoC. A new port will be necessary and prob

  9. It may varies on the country you reside in but for me, standard packages sent through local postal service are slow and less trustworthy (also they collect an additional fee of TAX/VAT "handling" even if it was pre-payed). However, "Aliexpress Standard Shipping" comes in a very different way where one of the independent couriers will deliver the package and they are also faster. Moreover, they deliver them without additional fees. So, these are mostly local specialties but basically Aliexpress tries to provide a good service. Also, I have ordered some spare screens from Aliexpress
