  1. Got my Pro1 back from repair and decided to start out with Lineage 19 as described above by Eske (I flashed the 20220613 recovery image... probably could have used the Lineage 18 recovery which also worked for AICP, but I wanted a fresh start). I also wanted to note that I was able to sideload version 25 of Magisk as a zip (depreciated install technique) in order to get SU, which ios all I use Magisk for. I had to open the Magisk Manager app to finish install, which was painless, but I think might be new. I don't remember having to do that before just for SU. Took me 30 minutes (and then a

  2. After typing on a keyboard phone again for a while, I can just feel again how awkward touchscreens are to type. I do not type enough to get really fast but I do type on it! On the touchscreen I often wait until I am at a computer before I reply.

  3. Add to that not having to look concentrated at the keyboard during typing, to keep touches inside the dedicated 'key' areas.....

  4. Having just gotten back my Pro1, I decided to start out with Lineage 19. Still, I'm hoping there might be an AICP-s.

  5. I've recently discovered typeracer as well which seems easier since you have full sentences. Best achievement with the Pro1 today were 370cpm which should equal to about 74wpm in german language. In english I get around 65-70 wpm but I have to quit many texts since they have special characters which I don't regularly use (as ' ). On the computer I get to up to 500cpm at max - in best times though.

  6. (Smoothly installed aicp_pro1_r-16.1-WEEKLY-20220615.zip on June 5 security patch and open_gapps-arm64-11.0-pico-20220503.zip using adb sideload)

  7. Indeed, touchscreens are just fine for replies like "OK", "Thanks" or "See you". And works tolerable for most web-addresses too. But a longer reply.... nah...

  8. Just as an update: I finally received my repaired phone from Fxtec support yesterday (2022-06-13). I originally mailed it in on 2022-04-15 and was informed that it may take "until early June 2021" to repair. Needless to say, the turnaround time was disappointing. I've already purchased a replacement phone long ago, and unfortunately T-Mobile service is terrible in my area, so I'll be putting this phone up for sale soon (on these forums first, then eBay if no buyers here).

  9. You're a beast! I'm still stuck at 50WPM but I have been out of the game for a bit due to a dislocated thumb 😬 (no worries, it's fully recovered by now). For me what i'd call a "leasurely" pace would be 40-45WPM which I'm sure people can do on a touchscreen, but for me it's not even so much about speed, it's just way less frustrating and harsh on the fingers when there's some feedback rather than just hammering my thumbs on a pane of glass.

  10. Sorry for your experience. Mine arrived yesterday and it is indeed mine and works flawlessly. Have Lineage 19 flashed and rooted and restoring everything. 🙂
