  1. Yeah, that's because it's required by EU law—not so much in post-Brexit UK, though, it would seem, when ordering from UK...

  2. I can confirm it is from the receiving date. My last screen replacement/repair (never been sure which it was) came when I had a problem occur 3 weeks before the end of my warranty calculated from when I received the phone. I checked with FxTec and they agreed with my calculation and also agreed that it is when the problem occurs relative to the warranty period and not whether they received it for repair while still in the warranty period (by the time we worked out the trouble-shooting and arranged repair, it was after the end of the warranty period when they received my phone). I would

  3. Indeed, for edl it might be worth to try a usb 2.0 connection. This can be done by using an old cheap usb 2.0 hub if your computers do not offer any @thilo `fastboot fetch` is just not available, sadly. Regarding your backup attempts using adb, its necessary to root android using magisk to be permitted to access those partitions. Its an easy process documented here officially: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sBS-Taw-3MXrG4lETA6dfuwda8K-9uVlzLhGk46ctzg/edit Or in short, - install magisk from the official source https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk - grab the boot.img fitting to yo

  4. I agree. I was merely reacting to your wording that could be interpreted as Lineage is available for the Pro1x now. 🙂

  5. A couple of clarifications. I am assuming the OP is talking about ordering a Pro1x (he says "pre-order). The Pro1x has a one year warranty, not a two year warranty. Also, while Lineage is definitely in development, it is not yet available for the Pro1x and we don't know an ETA yet.

  6. I believe that is common practice if not even law. At the least the warranty could not possibly start before the item was sent. No matter how much before it was ordered.

  7. I think the culprit can be identified by the difference here versus I have never heard of "boota" without an underscore. The big question is how it got in that weird state, but not most likely it was fixed by you changing: to Overwriting the weird value it had as read by "boot"....

  8. I think it is unlikely you damaged anything. As you probably know, the A and B slots are a kind of safety net that (among others) allows the device to keep the previously running OS "in reserve" whenever an update is installed. The active slot basically flips between A and B everytime a new ROM is flashed. So whether A or B is the "right" one for installing Magisk simply depends on the number of previous flashings being even or odd.

  9. And there is yet another possibility I have seen in the contracting world (In US, not China). (Again, I have no idea if any of this is what is happening here). So even though FxTec got phones to warehouse before contract end, lock downs and low staffing prevented most of the phones from going out before the contract end. This means all work has to stop until there is a contract extension. (I've proposed this before). But here is where December comes in, which I have not mentioned before. Even if the contract extension is mostly pro forma (mostly a rewrite of the work order with new da
