  1. Trying to replicate @Hook 's nearby success, yesterday, I stuck my Pixel 4a sim card into the 1x, seemed to stick to Band 4 (which I had not done before), and I still couldn't reliably make/receive calls. Oh, boy...

  2. It would be nice if I pulled his phone out and it immediately grabbed Band 4 and just worked. But if that doesn't happen, there are other variables here, Before drawing any conclusion about the phone being faulty we probably would at least need to try my sim in his phone and his sim in my phone and might even need to factory reset both to eliminate software differences.

  3. I do not know if a similar thing exists publicly available in the US, But here in Denmark there is a public site "mastedatabasen.dk" where one can zoom in and see quite a bit of info on each cell-tower location. ADD: https://www.cellmapper.net/ give some information along the highways , and several roads. That might help.

  4. @HookWhat batch is your 1x, and when did you receive it? Both of mine came in the first release, last August. Your connectivity experience is wildly at variance with mine. The GPS on both my 1x phones is so slow to get a fix as to be completely unusable. Here's an idea, in the interests of science. I will mail you one of my 1x phones, and you can do a comparative test of it with your 1x. That way a lot of variables could be ruled out with respect to sim card, tower location, band use, etc. if you get crap connectivity related to your 1x, science will be advanced! I'm willin

  5. Probably got side-lined when you requested it to come out of your refund. I would follow up. Maybe @Casey can help. I just requested both a battery and a screen assembly for the Pro 1 and they got back to me with a quote in 2 days. I just sent them my address so they can calculate shipping, so now at same point as you. Hopefully, I'll hear back more quickly. 😉

  6. Okay, I have been using my Pro1x for two weeks and it is now officially replacing my Pro1 as my daily driver. So I will not only be answering the thread question, but I will also be comparing my Pro1x to my Pro 1. They are both great pocket computers but the question was which would become my daily driver and which would be conscripted into the kind of experimentation I wouldn't feel comfortable doing with my main device. I like the Pro1x so much, that is the one I would like to always have with me. Also, for context (especially in terms of how I might not be like you), I live on the

  7. You are aware that the links you posted were for the source, right?. And yes I did not read all the blah blah so I did not look for links for the binaries, And anyway I never install binaries from random links, so would not have used them had I found them..
