  1. Based on what I've seen in the group, the latest firmware has no effect the lte issue. The latest firmware on the group include various Qualcomm tools, and is for recoding the issue and sending the logs to Fxtec I'm in Australia, using Telstra's network for third party carriers

  2. There are different aspects of this. In principle the Pro1X and Pro1 ought to work roughly equally well/bad. But that unfortunately is not the case all see. First of there are the general issue on what bands TMo uses, versus what the Pro1(x) is supposed to support. And also what the carriers allow into their networks in the US. That long story (that are more general) put aside, quite a number have reported network issues on the Pro1x also where the Pro1 works. But AFAIK, there are no conclusion on why it work for some, and for others not. We are not even sure f it is bound to specime

  3. Well that is part of it, yes. But as other have said in a thread on the battery issue, it should have some protection-mechanism doing an auto-shutdown, before it gets so discharged, that it can not be charged.

  5. Yeah, it's quite odd. My Pro1x seems to lock in on Band 4 and genuinely seems to use LTE (VoLTE for calls). I sometimes have the situation where the other party can't hear me, but toggling speakerphone on and off cures it and it stays cured for even days. I have no idea why that works. In general, my Pro1x performance for calls and texts reminds me of my Original Pro1, which was also far from perfect and that's when I de-converged using a moto slab on Verizon for a super-reliable phone and my Pro 1 as a pocket computer that could use a T-mobile sim if it was needed. That is now what I do

  6. Yes, I have sufficient bars--at times, more than @Hook so that doesn't seem to be the issue. There has been discussion that an inconsistent band lock (bands jumping from 4 to 12 or whatever) may be the culprit, but I don't believe anything is definitive. And I also don't believe that the OS choice has anything to do with telephony. Further complicating a found solution is that GSM is still available for TMo users (though next April, it's discontinued), so successful calls may hinge on a GSM default.   7. Depends on asking me or @Hook :) He's close by me in the US/Tmo, and makes successful calls. I can not on TMo. Unfortunately, I think my results are the majority's results.

  8. I took the Pro1x with me and tried getting it to work during the flight. I'm not quite sure what happened or why. But after about 10 hours into the flight I got it up and running. I've been using it heavy as a portable travel pc instead of my bulky GPD WIn4. I ordered a router from Japan Wireless so I'm connected to the internet. My only issue so far is that the camera won't work from within Signal. During my stay here I have missed 2 telephone calls. I'm assuming this was because of the connectivity issue with this phone. But it could also be because all the noise and just how busy Japan is

  9. @Adrienspawn The original battery has 3200mAh so 2900mAh would be fine for a non-standard replacement. I also believe the connector won't be a problem although it actually looks very similar to the Pro1's default connector. I could imagine we can simply input and output electricity without even changing the circuit in the battery. If not, we are most probably able to extract the circuit from the old (broken) battery to add it to the new one. The Lenovo Zuk battery seems great. But 3mm? I believe +1mm is no problem but 3mm is a lot of squeezing. I still ordered one and will give feedba

  10. On this picture you see golden contacts which may have been added for testing in development stage. They're very easy to solder. We can simply measure which pins get where (one of them being VBAT shown in the picture) and connect the battery that way. The main question is what the circuitry does. I guess it's a BMS (battery management system) and the battery consists of more than one cell. If so, you'd need a replacement battery with the same amount of cells and it should be fine.   11. Hello, I have dropped my Pro1, which caused ugly dent in bottom cover. Even though screen itself survived scratchless, it stopped working. So I got into disassembly expecting something visibly broken inside, but I could not find anything. The only damage were scratches caused by me trying to get inside the phone 😀. I knew the software was still working, because I could hear morning alarm and all kind of notification noises. Than I noticed the screen replacement on AliExpress had the connector on the side, so this was the final solution: I just disconnected and reconnec

  12. I just got the answer: they need to order at least 5000 batteries when they design a new battery. Since the FxTec is so rare, that's not going to happen.

  13. Note that FxTec told that the batteries are not interchangeable between the two models.... (Do not know the reason)
