  1. Current info for anyone else following this thread for battery replacement info: I contacted Fxtec through this form https://www.fxtec.com/contact-us about getting a replacement battery. They just got back to me and said that they have no more replacement parts available. (They didn't mention if this was temporary or permanent. But, at the very least, it's going to be hard to come by official batteries for now.) My battery has started swelling, so I will probably have to dig back through this thread to figure out which 3rd party battery is "close enough" and then do the soldering nece

  2. Also, would help to know how you are using. If doing a lot of graphic intensive gaming or long periods of video, it is likely to heat up.

  3. Hmm most likely some overheating protection that kicks in, as you previously reported it getting very hot during usage. It is not a thing I have experienced, so you might have a faulty unit??? 😢 Anyone else experiencing this? My first guess would be a factory reset, to rule out that it is some software running that uses a lot of power, as this could make most phones go hot.

  4. Okey dokey, in that case it'll have to be a case of getting a Pro1 and a Pro1X in pieces side by side. Shame I sold my Pro1X! Will keep my eyes out for a cheap one someone is sick of to do some science.

  5. If there were no other typing friendly alternatives whatsoever, like the cheap Titan Slim or one of the expensive new folders if must be, Fairphone would definitely be where I'd go. Five years warranty and software updates alone would be a strong reason to support them... For an older phone, they even did their security updates themselves after the chip manufacturer stopped delivering them.

  6. Let me repeat my reply to about the same post on IGG yesterday: Uh that was a bad experience!! On the broken seal they did a long while back say that they opened boxes to check battery, why they were not re-sealed I have no idea, others have reported the same. And the bloated battery is most likely the cause of your broken device. I guess no one opened and re-checked devices before this wave was rolled out, Contact them at [email protected] I’m not sure they read comments in here.

  8. Hi all, I am late to the party. I didn’t expect to receive this device and it showed up at my door late last week. I am really struggling to install Sailfish on the qx1050. I followed the instructions in the first post of this thread and I can’t get past the “Powered by Android” boot screen. I tried both the March 2023 (Sailfish 4.5) and October 2022 (Sailfish 4.4) releases. I booted to the bootloader, ran the flash.sh script. Each time it states the script has completed successfully but no joy. Can anyone advise me as to what to do? UPDATE: I figured out what I did wrong. When I fi
