Is degree symbol and ~ above letter N commonly used in German keyboard? I haven't seen it at all.

If I was asked in a matter of personal taste to pick only one from portrait and landscape sliders, I would choose landscape without thinking. :) But as a owner of a few Privs myself, I can also see some benefit of portrait sliders: - Being thinner. Because the slide-out part is much smaller than landscape. (But smaller keyboard...) - Can support nearly every apps natively - Easier for one hand operation But again, portrait slider has a much smaller keyboard and closer to a "phone" rather than a palmtop productivity beast. ;) If Pro1 gets enough interest, we will certainly consider

Keyboard feeling has a lot of factors determine it, key travel and it's feeling has always been the top priority when we design the device. We keep improving it up to the date. The tweet Eske shown above was from our early (gen1) proto. In this tweet, you will see gen 3 (on the left) compare with gen 2 (on the right) Once we decided the time for our meet and greet, we hope the keyboard can be tried and tested by more users. :)

acute accent is planned to be added. But the rest will be kept as it was, as it was mainly to be used for general German speakers. We are working on the Sym key to be user definable so you can add your missing symbols into sym key and pick it when pressed.

According to the preferences we will try to make either Friday the 31st or 7th June. Will try to work with the building management and report back. ;) Edit: Thursday also under consideration (the date before above) as suggested the most on Twitter.

Sounds like a great idea to spend a Friday afternoon! ;)

Confirm that Open Camera works (quite well) on Pro1 [attachment file=14295]

We are planning to host our first community event, around end of May or early June, at our office building in London. Anyone will be welcomed to drop by and have some (free) drink with us and play/feel/type with the latest unit of Pro1. Photo and video are both welcomed. (We can then share here.) We can also present some previous engineering proto to see the evolution to what we have today. What do you think? What is the best time of the day, and which day of the week days that suits the most? Please let us know and we will prepare / book the venue accordingly. :)

Just a quick heads up about what we planned to do with the Sym key: We are working with a new entry in setting, under such user can choose the characters that show up on-screen when sym key is pressed. So everyone can have their commonly used local symbols in Sym key. (And yes, sym key will be kept, and its content shall be user definable)

I confirm that Camera2 API has already been opened and some build of GCam works on Pro1. We are still improving the camera once we reach the next milestone we will publish some sample shots.
-
The camera optimisation and algorithm is still work in progress. We aim to provide some initial shots by late May. (Not final one) :)

Aggregated Message App like BlackBerry Hub?
Waxberry replied to donanobispacem777's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
We only ship with Essential Google Apps, no other apps at all apart from a Support APP for warranty management, the same as Android One If user prefers BB Hub, it can be manually installed from Play Store. It will work just as in other phones. I have tested the app in landscape it also works. -
@Hook Thank you for your message. I have already passed it to team, we have found your order and code. Team is investigating and will get back to you shortly! Thank you again! :)

Thanks @Noir Hi @alexmarzulli, sorry for being a bit late. The team has made the requested change, and a confirmation email has been sent to you. Please kindly check. :)

First of all I want to say I am indeed with the removable battery option. But I want also to tell some technical or other constraints: - Removable battery, with the same internal space, will have a smaller capacity for sure. This is because of safety, removable batteries has a outer shell / enclosure which is not needed with internal battery. With the shell required, the capacity will probably reduced to around 2500-2600 mAh instead what we have about 3200. - Removable battery requires a removable cover, which will complex the structure and make more layers, also result in the increase of

[attachment file=13690] This is probably still not perfect for some, but I tend to use this as the final QWERTZ layout. It's supposed to German centred so apologise for not including some symbols from other languages. Once QWERTZ is confirmed, if there is demand for other language, we will make it in similar ways.
-
This is what we think as well. For regional layout we want to serve make sure the layout fits the typical language, instead of mixing with 2 languages. This is what most other company does. So in this case we want to make the layout German centred.

Keyboard print layouts and functionality
Waxberry replied to caymen's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Sounds like a Czech variant of QWERTZ? Yes a picture would be great to have. :) -
Thank you! We will investigate to make sure it is correct regard the amount of your order. :) Edit: Would you mind sharing your order number?
-
Hello! Yes it will be dispatched to PRC. Cost will be posted closer to shipping date. Will probably dispatch directly from factory and arrive ahead of others in China. :) Edit: This can only be a very small amount. For major shipments it will need to go through HK.
-
OTG via Type-C is included for sure. :)

Thanks Eske for the unspamming. There is indeed a known bug of system automatically mark a normal post as spam. Our Dev is doing best to fix it. Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks again for understanding and Eske's prompt help. :)

How about this suggestion? What's your opinions? Regarding Caps using the pointing down arrow... Is that a common one on German language / keyboard?
