That's the word - communication has been a total mess. Surely a quick note to Erik to say "please can you update the forum to say that all IGG orders have now been allocated, next batch to follow in mid-November" wouldn't take much. But it would do wonders for those folk still waiting and wondering.

I don't wish to add any extra negativity to this thread. But I find it annoying that FXTec are posting updates on third-party message boards, but not answering questions on their own.

Same. What's your order number? I'm #17xxx and no stock allocation notification yet.

Great news folks, thanks for sharing. Keep us up to date! 🙂

Thanks for pointing that out. I liked this one: So it looks like they are reading the forum and/or social media. If so, I'd want them to know - I personally don't think they've lied - just in their enthusiasm been less clear and open than ideal. Examples: making a big deal of the ship date of the 29th without clarifying that this wasn't shipping _to customers_. The late change of case to sleeve. No clarity around batch sizes and times that would give people an idea. All the noise here is because people want to know when they'll get the phone they're exc

Thanks for the tip. One to watch if the Pro1 doesn't appear. It doesn't look as slick, but it's a nice concept. I applaud any resurgence in this form of phone.

It got a bit... Derailed! I'm eagerly awaiting news as well though.

What's your favourite HW keyboard phone?
glumreaper replied to readyfx's topic in General Discussion
This bad boy (HTC Desire Z) is still going strong. Well, it's going, anyway. I don't use it as a phone anymore - various areas of technology have moved on and left the poor Desire Z far behind. But it does still get used. It's had two new batteries and a new speaker over the years. Great little phone! And it is definitely a shame that the trackpad / click button is something phones have lost. -
I like how you wanted to rise above the 'toddlers', but ended up name-calling and ranting about people needing their orders cancelled anyway. Thanks for the laugh! 😁 It's not like people are rioting in the streets. This is a discussion forum about FXtec or the Pro1, and people are airing their frustrations. This is literally what this place is for. Telling FXtec how you feel about the stream of unclear, incomplete, or (depending on your viewpoint), dishonest, communications; and about multiple delays - is totally reasonable. It's certainly more appropriate than just disparaging other comm

After how long delivery is taking, I'm not holding my breath for updates! 😆

Thanks Erik! We do appreciate your efforts really.

. I'm feel like I'm losing a bit of trust. I keep thinking that this company will be supplying updates, support, and any warranty cover that I need for a little while to come. And yet so far they've shown at best naïvety and at worst dishonesty. But in the other hand they are aiming to pioneer the return of the physical keyboard form factor. I believe in them for that, and I want to support that return which I'm not doing if I cancel my order.

The more I think about it, the more frustrated I am by the sudden change of case to sleeve. It's annoying because unless this phone really takes off, there will be nowhere to get a case that fits! As has been said about many of the steps along the way: it wouldn't have taken much to communicate this in a more reassuring way.
-
Seconded. This is a disappointment. A sleeve offers little useful protection for this expensive phone, and finding third-party cases will be very difficult unless and and until the Pro1 becomes more popular. I'll wait until I get the phone before getting annoyed, but having been told we'll get a case it's a shame not to get one.

iPhone!? You mean Pro1, surely? 😉

I agree, though I wouldn't ask it of FXtec for these one-offs. It's s general trend in online content that's very annoying. So many tutorials and informative pieces now are presented as video when they could easily be text. Video is far less convenient to consume, and can't readily be done at your own pace.

That's good to hear. Thanks guys!

Hey all. I may have looked at the order status page once or twice today. 😁 One oddity I've noticed is that while the order status is 'processing', next to the order total it says "£xxx (charged at future date)". Does anyone know what this means? I've checked my banking and the money has been taken back in August, and it's the same price shown Thanks

I would totally buy the T9 version. I loved that mode of typing, and I'm sure it's the fastest I've ever been able to enter text on a phone.

Is this update still going to arrive this week?

Man, I hope I get my Pro1 soon. My current phone needs charging at least three times a day now!

Any opt-out or alternative to the headphones?
glumreaper replied to glumreaper's topic in General Discussion
I e-mailed the support address. They've put a note on my order to say leave out the earphones. However they did note that due to the speed at which the logistics team are working, it may not be picked up. -
I was wondering, too.
-
I'm guessing this is a no, but is there any way to opt out of having the headphones with the preorder? Or any alternative to them? I have approximately a thousand pairs of earphones. I've also got enough clutter in my house and don't need to add to the back of a drawer somewhere. So I was thinking I'll sell them, or have to just throw them away. But thinking about either of those options, it would be far more efficient to just not have them in the first place. Can this be requested?

Direct Emails from fxtec that I have been authorized to share.

Thanks, FXtec, for the recent improvement in communications. Transparency goes a long way to making me, for one, feel better. I had a moment the other day when a colleague, to whom I had spoken enthusiastically about the Pro1 back in June, asked me if I had it yet. When I said no, I could see in his expression that he thinks I've fallen for a scam. And to be honest, I was starting to feel as bit like that myself. July feels like a long time ago. I stay optimistic, however, and am sure I'll love the device when it arrives.
