The archiver is making good progress. I got busy with "real" work the past couple weeks so it has slowed a bit. The following is working: - backup and restore partitions and filesystems. - standalone and client/server mode. - all data is compressed and encrypted. It still needs: - incremental support. - an android app. - android selinux policies. I'm working on incremental support now. Bought my wife a new phone and confiscated her Pro1, since she wasn't using the keyboard anyway (ghosting bug). Sick and tired of waiting on my phones. Anyway, took the plunge. Running LoS 18. volte is fixed in lineage 17 and 18.1. vowifi is not working tho... kinda funny as they usually work in pairs. It has been suggested that it is an blob issue and LOS is also a bit strict on blobs, they use only those that come with phones and not other ones that work... Not many devs have the pro1 so could be a while. Absolutely. I tend to wait until release or close to it before I start playing with a new version. It just takes too much time and work to keep up with the changes before that point. I'll keep an eye on Lineage and AICP to see when they get close to doing releases.

I've been reading bout project Treble and Generic System Images. well this image says it all. Basically this would solve any driver/blobs/vendor implementation issues. Interesting 😁 According to their page that should not be supported, the flag they mention here is set to false Have you tried if it works with 11 too? So would be really interesting if they could make a ROM that put ALL the slider/hw-kbd stuff down in the "original vendor implementation" layer, that would make it even more open to alternative distributions and future Android updates.

Treble does really make a lot of things much easier @EskeRahn, it doesn't allow magic though. I've ran an Android 10 GSI from here on my Pro1 for a while and it worked well with the exception of not knowing when the keyboard is open or not, but I didn't check whether VoLTE works and VoWiFi isn't even something I can get as far as I know.

We have heard Google for YEARS saying that with the NEXT release, updates will be easier.... We are yet to see it actually happen. But will be great for the consumers if it becomes reality.

I have a Microsoft sculpt keyboard at the second office and honestly I mostly use it 'cause it looks cool, very ergonomic once you get used to it, but I wouldn't want to type on something like that with only my thumbs. :)) It's already a pain for me that on the Pro1 I haven't got shift and fn lock and I have to track if I should press right or left shift and fn keys depending on what key I want them applied to, further segmenting the right and left hemispheres of the keyboard would almost be a deal-breaker for me, but that's just my personal prefference.
