  1. Well, I just decided to bite the bullet and I placed an order. So I am now a future owner of an FX TEC Pro 1 sometime hopefully in 2021! Really looking forward to getting the phone and having a keyboard again!

  2. I merged a few private buy and sell threads. And to those that might wonder, yes the warranty do transfer on sale, see this answer @cerialphreak got about a year ago

  3. I hope these links are some help. The answer is that you need a new TWRP, for community and experimental builds. The official build TWRP has signature checking, regardless of the unlocked bootloader. Related to your issue, here on these forums is advice for the F(x)tec TWRP and experimental builds. More recently, from the /e/ forums, there's this solution described by a user and the OnePlust 7TPro. The solution is similar to that described above, with his method of updating TWRP - tho' I caution you NOT to use his link for the OnePlus TWRP! 😉 https://community.e.foundation/

  4. A few folks on the discord server have been experimenting. In particular "kabouik" installed OpenJDK in a LXC container. I sent him the minecraft java files and pointed him to the lwjgl arm64 libs. He was able to get it running, but as mentioned, it is rather slow due to lack of GL. So we have two working solutions but neither are accelerated. In the meantime I've found android based minecraft launchers. So I'm not sure which is going to win out yet. PS: this is not for me, it is for my oldest son. Apparently minecraft PE (bedrock) and minecraft java behave

  6. Interesting question. My guess would be that, if at all, Minecraft will run unacceptably slowly. As far as I know, there is no native implementation of a JRE on Sailfish. Here's an old and quite defunct thread about this on the Jolla forum. Now, I see no reason why it would not be possible to install the standard Linux versions of OpenJDK or even OracleJRE on Sailfish. Initially, this would enable text-only JAVA apps. Graphics in (Linux) OpenJDK/OracleJRE depends on X11, which SailfishOS does not support out-of-the-box. That could however be fixed using XWayland, which can be install

  7. I do suggest making this thread sticky if possible because if a couple of days of inactivity sinks it too far down, folks may end up creating more new threads,

  9. With a lot if help from the Sailfish people on Discord I got Sailfish 3.4 on the Pro1. IT IS NOT AS EASY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. I could not load 3.4 from script after having been on LOS. I had to re-load stock Android (instructions on this forum); load SFOS 3.3 THEN load SFOS 3.4.

  11. Hi, I'm looking to buy a Pro1 from someone, preferably the QWERTY version. I'm fine with a used model as long as it's functional. I'm flexible with the price; if you're willing to put it up for auction on Ebay, I'd be happy to bid for it. Just sent me the link, thanks.

  12. Sooo ... I could not resist doing the experiment. 😄 Not on SFOS/XWayland (as I do not have that on my device), but using my LineageOS/Linux-Chroot (devuan 3) with Xvnc. As argued above, I expect the two to yield quite similar results. As expected: Minecraft Java Edition does run in principle (yay!), but with so low framerate that it is not practically useful. What I did: Installed the default OpenJDK 11 shipping with Devuan/Debian (beowulf/buster). No problems here. Turns out running Minecraft is trickier than expected. I spent most of the time at this point, trying to un

  13. Off the current topic, but MediaTek is a big no for me. A Pro2 should ideally just be smaller with a flat screen– not everyone has gigantic thumbs– and all variants of NR. But I understand the part supply costs involved.
