  1. I completely agree. I don't think anyone here tries to defend IGG. I think the whole concept of Crowdfunding for perks is a really bad deal for the consumer. It probably should be regulated more. So please be angry at IGG, but not at fxtec. And do not try to ruin them, call your local politician and complain about crowdfunding or whatever. But don't try to damage a company which is in my opinion in a position, where crowdfunding is not too unethical!

  2. I think the main issue is that while crowdfunding is NOT the same as a purchase, it FEELS like a regular purchase. https://wp.josh.com/2014/01/21/read-this-before-you-contribute-to-an-indiegogo-campaign/ The blog post lists some complaints about how IGG tries to make the experience of crowdfunding similar to that of shopping despite attempting to avoid the legal obligations of normal ecommerce sites. So I'm sure plenty of people who are crowdfunding for the first time are easily swayed into thinking that they are guaranteed to receive a product. Now you can call them naive and

  3. Okay then that's a good deal. Cause I thought $10 screen protector + $50 battery + 2x$30 screens (price on aliexpress for screen) = $120, so where are they getting $219 from? But if it includes all those things, then it makes a lot more sense.

  4. They are providing not just the display but the entire frame, that is, the enitre top half of the Pro1/Pro1X. They even offered (don't know if they still do) choice of the new sapphire blue or the Pro1's black for the frame. So, yes, includes everything that goes in that half of the phone except the backplate, I would assume. From Alirexpress, you only get the display replacement and have to remove (unglue) the old one. For those who are handy, a good deal.

  5. Yes, it worked great, both with a simple USB-C to HDMI adapter and my Dell WD19 USB-C/Thunderbolt docking station, here I get both the 3 monitors and the USB-devices like mouse and keyboard. Now the monitor gets activated, detects a source, but both the monitor and the phone display stays black until I remove the USB cable again.

  6. I have used these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RWGCG9S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Am sure something cheaper can be found though I only paid £5.99 originally about a year ago. But no glass ones available 😞 But surely there will be around 2000 phones in the wild so maybe a custom one might be made if a supplier was contacted. (not interested in doing that my self though)

  11. Not for long, by the way – the card stopped being accessible in the midst of some large amounts of copying with the whole phone slowed down to a crawl, which made me go back to FAT32, and finally I have access to my music library with it...
