  1. 3.4 uprade to 4.0 at the moment is the only way to to get to 4.0. It's good if one knows how to get it, since it is not officially supported. Some quirks with the keyboard, but others can suggest things before upgrading to 4.0. I did a slow transition, but now it is my conplete daily driver. Recent addition was getting the camera to work. I think others might have some thoughts too

  2. I believe you are mistaking when FxTec released an update for the date of their latest updates. I believe the update released in August 2020 was the one with the April 2020 security patch. But then, I haven't been on stock for a long time either. 😄

  3. I don't have stock, but, yes, that is the last vendor security update and is that on the Lineage official weeklies as well.

  4. I have screenshot included on mine and I'm pretty sure I didn't when I first installed 18.1, nor did I find the option to include it back then. Unless I was just blind. I'm glad to have it back... I find it much more convenient there.

  5. Sorry to say I didn't do anything there. I enabled those items which aren't enabled by default back in LOS 17.1, and this is how LOS 18.1 presented them right from the start...

  6. Installed smoothly here by OTA, too – miraculously not only preserving MindTheGapps, but also Magisk! I remembered @marmistrz's instructions from April, kicked off the installation, and when it asked for a reboot, I opened the Magisk app to have it "install to inactive slot" before I would reboot – just to find no such option. A quick internet search led me to a notice by topjohnwu that said "Install to Inactive Slot is disabled in newer builds of the Magisk app due to changes that Google introduced to the OTA process", which dated back to 2020 and also detailed a modified upgrade method

  7. Also, as previously reported, it works fine to take the newest Magisk version (23.0)) which is only available as an apk, and rename it as a .zip file in order to flash it via recovery when you flash the nightly. However, I should point out that I only use Magisk for SU, I don't ever open the app nor do I use any modules.

  8. (lineage-18.1-20210531-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on May 5 security patch installed smoothly using adb sideload and MindTheGapps-11.0.0-arm64-20210412_124247)

  9. They're telling me they are getting a batch in August... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  10. Now that I finally did the plunge and moved to LineageOS 18.1 (without loss of data, from 17.1, which unfortunately became unsupported the moment 18.1 was out, but I guess that's a reasonable price to pay for the excellent options we get through those alternative ROMs), I thought I'd go the whole way and get root plus SafetyNet out of it, too, thanks to the instructions here. They seemed straightforward enough, and the adb USB connection from my old and trusted Thinkpad had already proven dependable. And it worked like a charm, too! I'm not completely happy with the results, though,

  11. I'm not sure if it will work, but you could try to limit the bands it is allowed to use. In the dialer app, 'dial' *#*#4636#*#*, select phone 1 and select "Set preferred network type" gives something similar but not identical to what @netman suggests.

  12. I've messaged FxTec and they told me I have no warranty whatsoever because the phone fell a few times. Understandably so. Yet, the bad focus was already there after receiving the phone. I've thought it's just the common issue almost everyone had. So that still leaves me with some mixed feelings. Granted, the focus got worse over time. Next time however, I will buy a phone that is less slippery. They told me the repair will cost £79 GBP, including hardware and shipping. I'll try to get the hardware alone from them and repair it by myself as Ive expected it will take so long to repair.
