  2. It is partly a hardware issue that should be flawlessly corrected with proper software, as I've described. My repeated key issues started about 9 months ago. Same thing with my Photon Q. I'm surprised the backspace key didn't break off and fall right out of the phone. That's very interesting that it's happening on LineageOS as well. But I'd have to guess that the way keyboard input is processed on LineageOS was just "borrowed" from Android. I'm an old-school microcontroller coder, and I have an example of this happening in early 80's tech. I have an old Radio Shack programmable

  3. Well I'm pretty thrilled that there are likely to be 2 sliding keyboard phones available at some point. My Moto Z3 is getting a bit long in the tooth. I'd prefer a Pro1, but I'll take whichever one is released first. Appreciate the side-by-side keyboard pix from lawliett. UPDATE: Rob's link about the downgrade mentions that they removed band 13. Guess they don't want Verizon customers. So much for the Astro Slide.

  4. In Denmark it is one year full warranty, and the second year you have to prove it was the manufacturers fault. (That is why planned obsolescence is not uncommon to kick in shortly after the second year)

  6. I had the gemini pda and the cosmo communicator before I got the pro1. I considered pre-ordering the astro slide, but decided against it for 3 reasons. 1. The keyboard is too big for thumb typing and yet too small to be able to touch type in a way that's comfortable for long periods of time. If I'm actually going to sit down at a table and touch type, I'd rather use a full sized keyboard. 2. The astro slide keyboard doesn't have as many keys as the pro1 and the layout isn't ideal either. I want to run emacs+vim and they use a lot of specialized keybindings, so I want

  7. Aaaargh!!!! Mine also just stopped working. Well, the screen stopped working. I assume there is something wrong with the flat cable and/ or connectors. When connected to an USB C screen I do get an output. But the LED on the display won't light up. And I don't have a spare Pro1 ๐Ÿ˜ข . Well this will be interesting then. Which one will be delivered earlier, my repaired Pro1 or my Pro1x ๐Ÿคจ. And Tuesday I was planning a road trip ๐Ÿ˜’. @ archseraphim please do keep us posted...
