  1. Maybe start a topic and try to involve some LOS folks. It could be the drivers and/or hardware are just bad, or it could be something else is amiss. It would be awesome if the community could somehow investigate audio recording issues on one hand and call quality on the other.

  2. @claude0001 Thanks for your answer. I must say, for me it's awesome what you've done, as I'm not a power-user like you. A Debian CLI with full access in Android, whaow ! So Geil ! It's very interesting, however I'm not sure I have the level to do that (not yet, but you really help opening my mind). I play a little whith termux, scripting inside Arch in order to automatize display and launching Xfce. However I don't find solution launching XSDL apk from bash script yet, and java and object-oriented programming languages is not my cup of tea (not yet ?). As Archlinux run in a conta

  3. (lineage-18.1-20211004-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on September 5 security patch installed smoothly using adb sideload and Open_Gapps-arm64-11-pico-20210712) ...But the reintroduced Accessibility / keyboard bug is not (yet) fixed, see above.

  4. Termux is a nice project and has some interesting features. But as an in-app solution, I guess it will always be somewhat limited. That is why I decided to install everything from scratch by myself. Note that, in the beginning, I also knew nothing about chrooting Linux distros on phones: the Pro1 is my first Android device. Do not give up! The reward for all the work and learning is that I have now a GNU/Linux distro running really in parallel to LineageOS, which allows me to use the Pro1 like an actual PC, while neither disturbing the Android environment nor depending on it in any way (e

  5. About call quality... one of my friends told me the in-call quality is worse since I am using LineageOS after stock. I may try it later using another phone under LineageOS and stock again but he showed me it is very noisy (background noise "hiss?") even if we are speaking on my primary and secondary phone number. It is very significant together with his latest phone while it feels better on his older phone but it can be heard on both phones while these phones can call each other without any similar noises. It would be good to find out if microphone issue can be solved somehow...

  6. There are guides explaining how to get pretty much any Play Store app to work on Lineage OS. I too was not optimistic about that but for now it works fine, though as already mentioned multiple times above you will need time and patience to get it working. I too use my Pro1 for work and the dual authentication app Duo works fine as does Microsoft Teams.

  7. I understand your decision, I do. Especially if you were running stock Android 9. Though I find Android in landscape works well in most apps. Even the apps that do not support it still mostly work for me when using FxService force landscape mode. Then again, maybe you use a different set of apps than I do. For instance I hardly do any social media, and mostly use the keyboard in a browser that has been optimized by myself for use with landscape keyboard, namely Fulguris. However phone call quality is indeed terrible, radio interference in speaker being the worst issue for me. Though

  8. Well, as the original poster, I thought I might follow up on this. I was finally able to get in touch with fxtec support back in March (I think their messages may have initially been marked as spam). After requesting and receiving some pictures of the phone to ensure it had not been physically damaged, fxtec support advised me that I had two options: 1) They could immediately send me a replacement screen, along with a link of a video on how to replace the screen myself 2) I could send the phone in for repair, but their service center was out of stock of replacement screens unt

  9. Based on some models and ideas presented in this thread, I made a new leather flip case for this phone. Each side is reinforced with thin plate of fiberglass. The phone is tied to the cover with 2 pieces of rubber. There is 4 small magnets to keep the cover properly closed.
