  1. Yes I know that as a moderator I should show a good example and not post off topic stuff. But this IS on keyboard phones, so not completely off topic. A flexible display with physically pop-up buttons https://www.gsmarena.com/researchers_create_an_oled_panel_with_inflatable_keyboard-news-58402.php (tldr: go to 3:38 in the youtube video linked)

  2. Indeed. I guess it would need to do more various shapes to have a broader interest. But if it can be done with out creases I think there is a market, as you would get a 'real' keyboard without sacrificing screen estate. Especially for fold-devices it would make a lot of sense to have one half with dual usage... Sort of like the Cosmo. But obviously a matter of how the feeling of a 'key' is, But with a little development there could be flat plates at the centre of each bubble , So you had a feeling of pressing a more firm surface and not a jelly-feeling.

  3. This has real possibilities. The question is, will this generate enough interest in any big companies that can do the R&D to take it out of prototype.

  4. Does anyone have any idea how many Pro1x have been delivered? I am curious how many of those with a Pro1x are having issues with reception. Is a new topic/ poll allowed?

  5. Charging-only mode is part of Android, so the phone must be able to boot the high-level OS to charge. When you connect a power source, it will always start the Android boot process. If the off-mode-charge flag is set, it will start the charger program instead of the full Android UI. Yep, you triggered the "battery protection bug". The problem is in the closed-source firmware, and relates to the PMC configuration. LineageOS doesn't have licenses for this source code, so we need F(x)tec to fix it. The only way to avoid it is to periodically charge your Pro1 X, and once a month should be

  6. @Casey you say that you are here to help us. You encourage us to trust fxtec and have faith. We do, we try, We contact you and tag you. And we get ghosted. So I am really hoping that you can clear this up and this is not just one more example of fxtec mishandling things. I paid $161.80 for a battery. That's like 25% the cost of the phone.

  7. I've ordered through the website. My order has been set to completed after about 3 years of being in processing, so I presume that means it is shipping now. So I would say that means they are indeed shipping website orders.

  8. I fixed similar problems (in Germany) years ago by having the following changes in /system/vendor/etc/gps.conf: [...] XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin [...] XTRA_VERSION_CHECK=1 [...] NTP_SERVER=europe.pool.ntp.org [...] INTERMEDIATE_POS=1 [..] SUPL_HOST=supl.vodafone.com SUPL_PORT=7275 [...] since then, GPS has been working quite OK for me (I have no Gapps on my Pro1). Changing that file in LOS 20 probably involves Magisk scripting, which I unfortunately have no

  9. Busy days... Just tried your suggestion. It does something, at least Maps will show a location. But I still don't get a fix. For some reason it assumes I'm 115km to the East. Edited gps.conf and rebooted. Left it outside in the yard for at least an hour. None of 20 satellites get a fix. There is something definitely wrong with my "brand new" Q1000. Thanks for the suggestion though. This must be hardware/ antenna. WiFi reception also seems worse than before/ other Q1000's I owned.
