  1. To answer your questions: 1) No disadvantages. You will have Android 13 and you will be getting current security updates. You will have all the functionality you're used to with some added features. 2) Here "useable" should be taken to mean it is ready for a daily driver, not as "it works, but..." 😄 It should not change your connectivity as it uses FxTec's own proprietary blobs for that. If you have good connectivity on stock, you will have the same on Lineage. If your connectivity is awful, it won't fix it. 3) Yes, those instructions at Lineage are good. Go slow with the ja

  2. Dear @Slion, I think I've got an idea how you are feeling. While I haven't retired my Pro1 yet, I also use the HW keyboard less and less. Partly, this is because some keys are becoming more and more unreliable, which makes typing a frustrating experience. Mostly, however, my use cases for the keyboard are much fewer than I had initially expected. I came to the Pro1 from an N900, which had an OS and an app ecosystem that was designed around landscape use of the phone. This is simply not true with Android. While almost all apps support landscape in some way, few make intelligent use of

  4. For anyone worried by the hiccup with the Pro1 update, the 20230504 update for the Pro1x installed smoothly and all is good. Still April security patch, as expected.

  5. The thread you are looking for is here: https://community.fxtec.com/topic/3204-display-units-with-large-tap-insensitive-margin/page/9/ However, I do not think we had a case of Pro1-X with this problem yet. For the Pro1, the usual fix was to flash back to the initial stock (Android 9) OS. Not sure it works similarly for the Pro1-X ...

  6. That's an amazing set of answers, I'm convinced, thank you wholeheartedly. I've just moved over to the Pro1x today for the trial run. I'll be back over the next few days with issues if/when they appear. Thanks again 🙂

  7. The FP3 also has an LCD. But especially at low brightness it looks way better than my Pro1's AMOLED. Also: No f**ing rounded edges! 😄 It's not all in spec sheets.

  8. Well, I fixed it. I reflashed 2019 stock wondering if there's something Droidian doesn't like about coming from Lineage, and it still didn't work, so then I took all of the updates to 2019 stock (I had forgotten how many updates we got before it just stopped). Tried one more time with the Droidian flash_all and... it just worked. Nothing different about the output of the script, but it booted into Droidian. Will be a while before I get to set it up, but I finally got it. 🥳 🍻

  9. Because the Pro1, after 3 years, has none of the problems that the Pro1x does. It just works as advertised.

  10. It's hardly a difficult question to answer! It's how I finally got one .. & the connectivity issues mean I've given up trying to use it 😪

  11. Though it did take a couple of software updates to reach that state, and there still are issues that will never be fixed. But luckily for my they are not crucial for my usage. Whether the known issues with the Pro1X can/will be fixed by updates we do not really know. But in the current state where they struggle to even deliver I do not have my hopes up high for large software updates - Obviously I hope to be proven to be too pessimistic here...
