I think that behind this joke and the nonsensical PR message, there is actually potential for something good: They might be able to make the keyboard layout (including the membrane, obviously) modular so that you could swap it on the fly with one similar to what is shown in the image. Having to carry two keyboard layouts might be somewhat cumbersome though.

I fail to see how pre-ordering would entitle anyone to more than what they bought. I may have come late to the party, but I am fairly certain that when I did pre-order, the only specified rewards were the case and the headphones. Was it at any point indicated that the price would see an increase at release? Are you actually upset that the phone is not pricier for other people?

I'd like the Pro1 to replace my bulky laptop in addition to upgrading my phone. I would love to see if it is possible to install Gentoo Prefix on a phone OS that uses the Linux kernel. I expect this to let me rely on the phone OS for anything related to my usual phone usage (GPS, SMS/MMS, camera, phone), yet have a very large native UNIX userland (web browser, vim, latex, emulators, etc... without the performance cost of remote display). I am going to give Sailfish OS a go, just to see if that fits the bill.

I placed my order in April, expecting to have the phone in 4 months. In July, you announced a delay of 2 months. In September, you announced a delay of 1 month. We are now in October, and you are pretty much announcing a delay of half a month. Are you guys trying to disprove the Dichotomy Paradox? :o)
